January Roundup

Hey everybody! Sorry I've been a little inconsistent on the Roundups lately, honestly I've just been working on the RR Kickstarter rewards and the softball graphic novel for the past few months, so there hasn't been much else to report! BUT! Hopefully that is ABOUT TO CHANGE because I am planning on launching the RR Kickstarter BEFORE THE END OF FEBRUARY! Wowwie! 

I put a lot of time and effort into RR over the past few years! It sucks that Kickstarter is still being a horse's ass and that their block/chain shenanigans will probably affect how many people ultimately return to the platform to back the project. BUT I AM STILL HOPEFUL FOR AN EXCITING CAMPAIGN, and am committed to giving it all the bells and whistles it deserves. Which includes a very bonkers campaign video in which I and my wonderful spouse Gannon will dress up like aliens and perform a small skit imploring you to back the project. 

The green alien design is the look I'm going for, and the other was my very preliminary attempt for Gannon (but Gannon has already designed a new and much more glamorous look, don't worry.) We're treating this like the drag costume we made for Gannon last Halloween, and getting very into fabricating outfits and putting together a small set with *adequate* lighting and sound. Yes I WILL be painting myself green. Here's how my outfit's going so far: 

Everything is still in a VERY EARLY STAGE, but it's coming together! And yeah, I'm wearing Gannon's snow boots to make myself look even more cartoonishly proportioned than I already am.

I'm even doing a bit of storyboarding, which, despite being someone who draws comics for a living, is like my least favorite thing to do ever. 

If this seems kind of ambitious, IT IS! But we're still in the middle of a pandemic, so what ELSE are we supposed to spend all our nights and weekends on?? 

Other than the alien video, I've been inking, inking, inking up a storm on the softball graphic novel. I've got about 40 pages done so far, and I'm hoping to have up to 60 in the next few weeks as well. I'm very busy :'V
