November Health Update

Hello those of you who remain. Sorry for the long delay between updates but I have some issues that are compounding an already difficult situation. As you all know I have Cancer. I am told it is Non Hodgekins diffuse large B cell lymphoma. I have been undergoing the usual treatments of chemo and as a result my life has degraded quite a bit. Though I tried very hard to work through the problems one in particular has made it all very difficult.

I have advance neuropathy in my hands and feet. This makes it very hard to do simple tasks like  sign my name with a pen, hold a fork, or type.

I can no longer hold my hands over the keyboard properly and it has reduced my typing rate drastically. Still it’s not all bad news, I am on treatments for the condition and they are working, slowly giving me more control of my fingers. I have enough now where I can type for ten to fifteen minutes at a stretch before my hands begin to hurt.

This condition is my number one barrier to getting my writing done. My second barrier is the constant medical appointments. I spent 10-20 hours a week in medical appointments, most of it in travel time and sitting in waiting rooms. When I am home I am still my disables wife's primary caregiver, and the one who has to do the cleaning, dishes, laundry, etc. I am moving a bit more slowly these days and the chores are taking a bit longer to do.

However, all of this is coming to an end. I may be in the clear and done with my treatments. I have an upcoming appointment to discuss the last battery of tests but if all goes well I will finally be on the road to recovery. In the meantime I intend to keep trying to turn out content. I am slow and my hands are already starting to hurt from typing this, but I  will do my best to keep going.
