I had to make a website that was all about indoctrinating young children in Christianity almost literally from the day they were born. I felt really slimy about it afterward, but it's my job.

2018-12-31 10:40:34 +0000 UTCI'm a firm believer that indoctrination while young is one of the main reasons why religion manages to persist into the modern era. I managed to reason my way out of that trap at a pretty young age but in doing so I got treated like crap by everyone in my family and punished for not wanting to buy into the nonsense. It made me withdraw and become anti-social for a long time. I saw tons of kids who were pulled in by these lies and abusive methods and it's really hard to reason people at that age out of believing something being handed down by figures of authority with such conviction. I mean kids will believe in nonsense like the tooth fairy and make up their own monsters out of the shadows in their closet. Imagine being told constantly that you'll be set on fire forever if you don't believe something at such an impressionable point in your life by hundreds if not thousands of people. People that target children for any ideological agenda are morally reprehensible.
