2026-01-01 21:46:36 +0000 UTCI can't believe after all this, you talked over and missed Laura revealing the killer, hahaha. Man, Ray Wise and Kyle Machlachlan. Amazing. People keep talking about a drop-off are really over-stating things. The show never stops being great overall, as the main thread is solid throughout, just the show adds a bunch of b-plots you have to power through alongside the good stuff. There is a mild sense of missing Lynch's prescence, but he only directed like half a dozen eps anyway, so that's over-stated too. Don't go forward assuming you'll be down on the show, you might enjoy it just as much. (You're allowed to hate the James plotline as much as you want though, no-one will argue.)

2025-12-30 12:17:28 +0000 UTCLet's all just appreciate how Ray Wise as Leland Palmer can go from being terrifying to tragically heartbreaking in the course of a single scene. And Dale Cooper steps effortlessly into the role of some kind of timeless shaman, guiding Leland's soul to redemption, and it feels perfectly normal, like, "Yeah, it makes sense that Cooper would know how to do that." And look at how Albert and Sheriff Truman are getting along so well after coming to blows earlier in the season. It's truly a one of a kind show, and I'm glad to see that you're getting it.

I was one of the people that was always suggesting and voting for it. I would also throw out Robert Altman's McCabe and Mrs. Miller and J.P. Melville's Le Samurai.
