Her lousy books exist for the sake of money, thus her depression manifested in drinking ergo the breathalyzer to start the car and her repressed sexuality that is hinted at. A huge conflict in this new reality. This reminds me of Buddhism , no killing of animals, loss of ego and anger can cause suffering in others. Looking forward to this story playing out.
