2025-08-12 18:00:25 +0000 UTCI love the episode where they go to Italy. Really captures that feeling of not quite belonging to two different places you get as the child of immigrants. In the states, they consider themselves Italian and even have a word for non-italian americans--Medigans. But they aren't truly Italian either as Paulie learns when the food is not the typical spaghetti and meatballs, they don't really speak the language outside of a few words, and the prostitute he hooks up with couldn't care less where his ancestors are from. As someone who was born the states to an immigrant father, it really resonated with me.
