also after reading up on it a bit after watching it for the first time, a quote from one of the crew during commentary was ‘there’s something creepy about something horrific going down in broad daylight’ and that always stuck with me because it’s true. not many horror films play around with that it’s always dark lighting and cheap jump scares. this gives a real uncanny, unsettling vibe that is just in plain sight not hiding behind anything and that’s why i like it

2024-12-07 03:37:46 +0000 UTCi never get scared from horror films anymore unfortunately but when i watched this for the first time, it stuck with me a little. ‘i live in the weak and the wounded’ that distorted simon voice was always so eerie to me and i think the sound design in this is great. it’s genuinely scary because it’s something that can happen to anyone like there’s few things more terrifying than losing your mind… so good
