It would be an interesting plot twist if Tornwing was the one who tried to get Clem killed by a demon from the beginning. From what she described in a previous page, if Clem was killed by a demon, there would be a war between the demons and Vampires. Such a war could be used by the angels to make the two sides to kill each other off, allowing the angels to finish off the winner after they have been weakened by the conflict.
