Loved this weeks reactions as always. If i may add to the suggetions in the theme of this month: Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) - there are lots of wonderful reasons to check this out but I am sure from a lover of film and film maker point of view, you will get a very rewarding experence from viewing it. 2024-10-27 13:05:28 +0000 UTCPontypool (2009) An awesomely bizarre Canadian sort of zombie horror thing that does a wild job of telling and not showing, that criminally few people watch or recommend. When I first watched it, it was clear it sat with some post-9/11 vibes prevalent in media that decade, invoking the confusion felt that day. Re-watching it recently however, I realized it could also read as prescient in some way of the shift to meme-based viral spread of disinformation on social media.

2024-10-24 22:06:29 +0000 UTCI wasn't expecting RotLD to actually win. It's one of my favourite movies. Any scene with James Karen and Thom Matthews together is pure gold. I'm curious to see whether you view it more as a horror movie or as a comedy. Going from The Others to RotLD is going to be a bit of whiplash. Like jumping from the hot tub directly into the swimming pool.
