2024-10-19 08:06:12 +0000 UTCI first saw this film when I was 13... I was channel surfing on a weekend night when everyone was already asleep so I had no idea it was horror and decided to watch it. I'll never forget the feeling this movie gave me bc I wasn't desensitized yet and the horror aspect came by total surprise. Today was my first time revisiting the movie and I can say, while it's horrifying, I had made it a bigger deal in my head because I just let the 13 yo me's "traumatized" perception live rent free in my head lol! I'm happy I watched it now. Loved the commentary on the cinematography! It was truly gorgeous... most of the time

It's all kinds of effed up that Eihi Shiina apparently insisted they did it that way, she's not the one with her face in the bowl. I do not understand how the bagman actor was able to physically do that scene if the trivia is indeed true. For anyone wondering, google "audition vomit scene real trivia" I have my doubts that's it's actually true, I feel like it's something the director said as a joke, and then it ended up on imdb's trivia section with no real proof. To me it seems actually impossible, maybe if the bagman actor had insisted on it, but not the other way around.
