Also, the actor that played Vaughn was John Ritter. Most famous for his television roles as Jack Tripper in Three’s Company, Paul Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules, and the adult Ben Hanscom in the 1990 miniseries of IT.

The actor that played Doyle is actually Grammy award winning Country Music Singer, Dwight Yoakam. If you actually want to hear him here’s a link to one of his songs. https://youtu.be/Tu3ypuKq8WE

Billy Bob Thornton seemed to explode out of nowhere with his indie film Sling Blade. It got a lot of attention and a fistful of Oscar noms. It wasn't exactly under the radar.

Sling Blade is a personal one for me. This was my father's favorite movie just before he died in 1998. I was about sixteen then. He had lung cancer and didn't have long when the movie hit VHS. So my mother went out to buy it but it wasn't available for sale yet, only rent. So Walmart, Suncoast, all those places didn't have it. She went to the nearest mom and pop video rental store called Carbonated Video. They had these prepaid cards you could get with ten rentals for twenty dollars. My friend and I always walked up there during the summers and rented one movie every day to watch. We must have went through every tape in the place because between us, we always had a prepaid card. Anyway, there was this guy that worked there who had glasses and a ponytail and wore floral shirts, because every mom and pop video store had a guy with a ponytail working there back in the 90's. My mom went up to him and told him that she had been all over town and couldn't find a copy of Sling Blade. She told him how much my dad loved the movie Sling Blade and didn't have long left and wanted us all to watch it with him again. She asked if he had any copies available to sell. He walked over, took one off the shelf and told her they did now. I will never forget that. Every time I see this movie, I think of my dad and that guy with a pony tail behind the counter.

In the early 2000's my band played a gig at Stubb's BBQ and Billy Bob Thornton was there. Super nice guy. Got a picture of him with my wife (then girlfriend): https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/59482354_10157434888413760_5903444436821475328_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=UOrkgmo6zxIAX9O6rcV&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=00_AfDIMDkbcdd4d0kJM8IngxQ7nXiRIH1wuaOSk6EOjY2cfQ&oe=64C6C9DE

The skinny guy with long hair and gray hat in Doyle's band is a very popular local Austin, Texas musician named Ian Moore.

The reason the character of Doyle says he's got a phobia of antique furniture is because Billy Bob Thornton actually does have a phobia of antique furniture as weird as that sounds.
