Subtlety is lost. AI art, being the end of the road for automating art, lends itself to fascism because it is devoid of any real artistic value and is inherently "loud"

It is as vapid as their comedy and performance arts; throw a bunch of money down for the best technology to make it look “cool” and produced, but lacks the life and creativity. Why? I believe because (as you have alluded to in many previous episodes), in the words of Brene Brown, “you cannot selectively numb emotion.” Imagine how out of touch one must be from their ability to truly feel, in order to be able to commit and/or support the barbarism that these idiots have over the past year plus. It’s the “mystique”[?] that you’ve referred to seeing in the eyes of IOF soldiers- a disconnect from humanity. Shattered souls :(

2024-10-26 09:28:58 +0000 UTCgerman person here, living in berlin + taking part in pro-palestinian protests: got arrested for „freeing a prisoner“ because i put my hand on the shoulder of another protester who police in riot gear had started to „arrest“ aka beat up: i got beaten up as well subsequently and later got several letters accusing me of a variety of acts i hadn’t‘t committed. however, as a white person i can still act relatively freely; the people that get targeted most frequently, barred from protesting, and get their houses and flats searched by cops (same as in your guest‘s case, very early in the morning and without notice as far as i am concerned) are still sadly palestinians (including refugees) and people read as vaguely middle eastern: the intimidation tactics that are implicit in this are still directly aimed at individuals who in the media can easily be spun into characters that for years have been maligned as terrorist-aligned, dangerous foreigners. it is virtually impossible atm to get any truthful information on the war on palestine, lebanon etc. that is not soaked in zionist talking points from the vast majority of german media outlets. additionally, regarding the increasing boldness of police violence, i was told by people with more insights than me that the police has recently 1) started (or increased) bringing non-berlin cops to berlin (which, considering the far more right-wing counties around and near berlin can‘t be good news) and 2) have lowered the conditions you have to fulfill in order to become a cop. i don‘t know what exactly these conditions are but the end result evidently is riot cops that ache for a fight, frequently look coked up, and ultimately are completely incapable of keeping a somewhat cool head during protests (many look kinda scared). one nice thing about the developments of the recent year and especially months is that shortly after oct 7, police often outnumbered protesters; from what i can see, this has been reversed, and the intimidation tactics employed by the state are not working the way they want them to. the number of groups and loose collectives in support of palestine and invested in legal aid for protesters etc had increased and is becoming more organized and interconnected, which is beautiful to see. rambling, but felt like sharing. thank you for bad hasbara, it is reaching people here too!
