Boba Fett EP 4 + 5 (Early Access!)

Half of the point of Star Wars used to be the slow burn, the deliberate way it and its predecessors told a story. Being a good fighter (and old, and hurt), on top, is not about jumping head-first into a fight where you can't assume to have an advantage due to intimidating folks (who know you with the armor to begin with, if at all). Consistency be damned because all of Star Wars can be fairly flaky in that regard - arguably a trope stemming from the many inspirations SW took - a competent fighter picks their battles, especially when it's one shot one kill. I prefer him playing it as if there were real stakes way more than just round-housing folks left and right, even Mando who is in better form than we've seen Boba in doesn't want to go ham all the time and for good reasons... there are consequences, even if you're wearing Beskar. It's a different kind of fiction from thing to thing. You get hyper-fantasies like John Wick, where being magical is part of your skillset (same for the very entertaining Reacher show and especially the books it's based on), and you get more sober attempts at telling the story of folks who know what's on the line. If you've seen My Cousin Vinny, you'll know. Patience is the way to go. Preparing a plan before going in and having two backups ready is worth gold, and everything else is basically a play at plot armors as far as I am concerned. Not one I can't appreciate, but it's really easy for me to suspend my disbelief about him not trying to get killed at every corner.

LMFAO, honestly stay tuned for the upcoming months. Who knows~!

Connie you are legendary, haha appreciate the comment and hearing your thoughts! Good to hear I’m not misheard on that part because I’m still enjoying my experience! It’s just The Mandalorian was just DAMN GOOD. Especially with someone like Boba, his intentions are everything haha I wanna knoooow ahhh.

ok, as for episode 4: your feeling and critique makes sense. i can give you a plethora of thoughts i have of why i think boba this and that, but at the end of the day, the story hasn't conveyed well enough his intentions. i wish we got to see more of why/how he became a changed man in the 5 years between him falling into the pit till the start of the mandalorian and what motivates him to sit on that throne. we only got some dialog over the fire, but to your point, you're not feeling what he feels. i'm still along for the ride and could see myself re-watching the show. also, black krrsantan hates trandoshans cause they hunt wookies for sport. that arm will grow back lol

thank you!!

fixed!!

Okay I’m throwing out a crazy idea. I need James to react to the Twilight series. I feel like it would be FANTASTIC. I need his reaction to certain moments 😂 please add it to the polls.

speaking only on episode 5: there is definitely a shift in tone and style of direction there. since you're into animation, i recommend checking out star wars rebels for more on tarre vizsla if that's of any interest.

the uncut links don't seem to link to anything unfortunately. just says "Sorry, we couldn’t find that page". was able to get to episode 5 via your vimeo, but if you re-link episode 4 that would be awesome. thank you!!

Thought it would. By the way, just to let you know if you have not seen the cinematic masterpiece, Ben-Hur (1959), it was recently added to HBO Max. Highly recommend this film. This film is a masterpiece in the acting, directing, the writing, and all the technical aspects of the film. Although, it is a long epic. It’s 3 hours and 42 minutes. Also worth watching because it has one of the most iconic action scenes in film history, a chariot race that actually last a full 15 minutes of screen time and never gets dull because all practical effects and stunt work. Really amazing scene. Just thought you might like it. :) It also won 11 Academy Awards as well.

Knew it reminded me of that!

Thank you, fixed!

WARNING: For episode 6 strap down the table because you might knock things in excitement with the next episode.

Cody Price

Mando’s new ship was actually a Naboo Starfighter. It’s the same starfighter that 10-year Anakin piloted in the Space battle in episode 1.

i'm going to wait for the full watchalong!

Connie Tsang

The uncut links are 20 minute's each which seems like they are the YouTube edits on vimeo and not the watchalong uncuts.
