I discovered Paris, Texas through a film class. I found it fascinating. I like the other films, but this one kept my attention.

2022-02-06 22:14:58 +0000 UTCParis, Texas is a wonderful film by Wim Wenders with an absolutely impeccable cast. The cast of Chungking Express is also magnificent. Two very opposite kinds of cinematography, one being filled with these wide landscapes and the other claustrophobic intimate tight shots. Both by very acclaimed directors who you cannot possibly just watch one film of their bodies of work. Then you have The Elephant Man by David Lynch and I Saw The Devil. They are wonderful and should be watched not just once. Oh yeah and Nashville by Robert Altman what can you say other than that it's a masterpiece? Maybe: "The Buses!"?

2022-02-04 21:50:02 +0000 UTCHey James, it be cool to have this type of poll for TV series as well. My suggestions would be Clickbait and Westworld. You should also check out Upload.

2022-02-04 17:13:00 +0000 UTCI want some of the JJ nerds to drop their votes and put them towards Elephant Man! 😂
Kaitlin
2022-02-04 14:52:57 +0000 UTCI think a lot of what goes into to figuring out which classic movie gets picked is if its on the imdb top 250 or not, which is wack because that list is wack. The one absolute dead end for a burgeoning film lover.
Bert Taverner
2022-02-04 10:34:02 +0000 UTCSorry brother, those stay. Gotta have personal picks involved on the channel. Hope you understand g!

2022-02-04 06:25:50 +0000 UTCIf we’re going down the Gus Van Sant rabbit hole, let’s add “My Own Private Idaho” and “To Die For.”

2022-02-04 01:15:53 +0000 UTCI really don't care for the "rewatch" thing considering how many movies pop in and out of this list. Several less popular, yet amazing movies keep disappearing instead of being "Dealer's Choice"" picks.
Robert Kruger
2022-02-04 00:30:45 +0000 UTCNashville is doing almost as bad as night of the hunter... that's a shame. It is really hard to guess which classic movies gain traction
Yours truly, Johnny Dollar
2022-02-03 23:09:53 +0000 UTCI am tripping !

2022-02-03 21:02:02 +0000 UTCThis film makes me want to use a spray bottle on JJ Abrams whenever he tries to go near a story.

2022-02-03 18:06:51 +0000 UTCCould it finally be 10 Cloverfield Lane's time to shine? Not sure how he's gonna feel about the film itself, but those PERFORMANCES.
Tyler Worthington
2022-02-03 17:30:09 +0000 UTCIt's too good to give up.
Robert Kruger
2022-02-03 15:19:35 +0000 UTCAdd 'Good Will Hunting'
Randall Keizer
2022-02-03 13:56:12 +0000 UTCIt’s been underexposed lately. It was definitely one of the “it” films of the time. I really hope it wins the poll sometime.
Kaitlin
2022-02-03 13:23:03 +0000 UTCVice is great but after you’ve lived through it, it’s so hard to watch without grinding your teeth the whole time.
Kaitlin
2022-02-03 13:04:36 +0000 UTCYou misread Sunrise for Sunshine ;-) Anyway my vote is for Elephant Man.
Brett Coster
2022-02-03 12:42:09 +0000 UTCThe Elephant Man and Paris, Texas for me. This poll was very easy to vote.
2022-02-03 12:34:30 +0000 UTCJust got the War Kong Wai boxset so Chungking Express would also be good
Matt
2022-02-03 05:35:21 +0000 UTCI prefer PURPLE NOON 1960 to THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY but both good, my vote is for PARIS TEXAS this week
Matt
2022-02-03 05:31:55 +0000 UTCJust watched your reaction to Amelie. Next time you ask for suggestions, I'm going to submit Monsieur Lazhar. A beautiful (French speaking) film dealing with childhood emotions and trauma.
2022-02-03 05:07:17 +0000 UTCThat said Vice is a very under rated film.

2022-02-03 04:18:08 +0000 UTCFor aspiring film directors, Paris Texas foots the bill for low budget independent film making. It also has a very touching story.
2022-02-03 03:58:59 +0000 UTCSunshine and Terminator. :D Slingblade and Rumble In The Bronx as alternates.
2022-02-03 02:37:25 +0000 UTCCHUNGKING EXPRESS i know this is a movie that james will love and appreciate!!!!
2022-02-02 23:40:46 +0000 UTCI’m gonna start lookin like Fred the fish with his knees on the floor from Spongebob voting for Wong Kar-wai films
nick moose
2022-02-02 22:32:32 +0000 UTCSunshine is a cool movie!
Underwater Sunlight (Eddy)
2022-02-02 22:05:40 +0000 UTCVery happy to see The Elephant Man on here!
Kaitlin
2022-02-02 21:45:53 +0000 UTCOf course Terminator is going to win and it is a cert classic but we have some some gems here that don't have a chance lol! Gross Point Blank is a fun one but my favourite on the list is Chungking Express. Gorgeous movie by Wong kor Wai. Great pick. Second vote goes to Nashville. I have never seen anything like this film before it is amazing!!!Also great songs
Marvelous Dolcy
2022-02-02 21:09:21 +0000 UTCDid The Terminator too cos why not? And hey, we got a Wong Kar-Wai up in here!

2022-02-02 20:54:40 +0000 UTCYayyyy! Thank you for adding Grosse Point Blank to the poll! I really hope it wins even if it’s an underdog. It’s hilarious.

2022-02-02 20:09:05 +0000 UTCI have crossed all of my fingers in hopes for Grosse Pointe Blank, introducing people to that movie is, like, one of my things.
Wingates_Hellsing_42
2022-02-02 20:06:05 +0000 UTCHow could I say no to Terminator for the first time?
Matthew Richson
2022-02-02 20:03:09 +0000 UTCIt's not looking likely, but I really hope that Grosse Point Blank gets a look in. One of the best comedy scripts of the 90s, if not ever. And Danny Boyle's Sunshine is a gem.
Richard Akhtar-Dobson
2022-02-02 19:30:30 +0000 UTCI went with Paris, Texas, Chungking Express, and Rumble in the Bronx. But The Terminator's going to walk away with 1st place. And I never gave 10 Cloverfield Lane much thought but it's been doing great in the polls - I might need to check it out.
Ken
2022-02-02 19:17:01 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite list. I don't even care which movies win. I'm going to be elated with the reaction videos no matter what.
Penultimate Tommy Wiseau
2022-02-02 19:16:33 +0000 UTCNashville is on the poll! Please vote for this. This is the first Altman movie to be on the poll. James needs to see the original PT Anderson.
Yours truly, Johnny Dollar
2022-02-02 19:12:25 +0000 UTCThe Talented Mr. Ripley baby

2022-02-02 19:09:45 +0000 UTCGrosse Point Blank is something I process in my mind as underrated, or rather, under-exposed to most audiences. Along with Kathryn Bigelow's Strange Days, something about those movies in particular that makes me almost conflate them.

2022-02-02 19:08:06 +0000 UTCGoing Vice and Sling Blade
