Movie Reaction Poll

Vote on what I should watch and react to next! This Poll will end most likely Sunday and I'll choose the TOP 2 to react to next week on Monday & Wednesday!

No worries, I plan on actually prolonging these recommendations so don't trip if you don't see your selection on here first!

Comments

I discovered Paris, Texas through a film class. I found it fascinating. I like the other films, but this one kept my attention.

JL Green

Two more votes for Elephant Man you cowards!

Kaitlin

Other than Vice Nashville got the lowest!!! (I haven't seen Vice) You people are Phillestines!!! lol. I hate democracy

Marvelous Dolcy

Paris, Texas is a wonderful film by Wim Wenders with an absolutely impeccable cast. The cast of Chungking Express is also magnificent. Two very opposite kinds of cinematography, one being filled with these wide landscapes and the other claustrophobic intimate tight shots. Both by very acclaimed directors who you cannot possibly just watch one film of their bodies of work. Then you have The Elephant Man by David Lynch and I Saw The Devil. They are wonderful and should be watched not just once. Oh yeah and Nashville by Robert Altman what can you say other than that it's a masterpiece? Maybe: "The Buses!"?

kimsmk

Love and Basketball too!

Kaitlin

In honor of Valentine’s Day and Black History Month, I’d like to toss a few options in the mix. Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967) - the late, great Sidney Poitier plus Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy (his last - he died before it was released) How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) - Angela Bassett, Taye Diggs, Regina King Waiting to Exhale (1995) - Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker directed Brown Sugar (2002) - Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan and hip-hop Poetic Justice (1993) - Janet Jackson and Tupac, John Singleton directed Moonlight (2016) - Best picture Oscar Mississippi Masala (1991) - Denzel Washington and Sarita Choudhury, Directed by Mira Nair Jungle Fever (1991) - Spike Lee film, Wesley Snipes and Annabella Sciorra

Hey James, it be cool to have this type of poll for TV series as well. My suggestions would be Clickbait and Westworld. You should also check out Upload.

Charles Allen

Ripley!

Cameron Berry

I want some of the JJ nerds to drop their votes and put them towards Elephant Man! 😂

Kaitlin

I think a lot of what goes into to figuring out which classic movie gets picked is if its on the imdb top 250 or not, which is wack because that list is wack. The one absolute dead end for a burgeoning film lover.

Bert Taverner

Sorry brother, those stay. Gotta have personal picks involved on the channel. Hope you understand g!

James Adams

If we’re going down the Gus Van Sant rabbit hole, let’s add “My Own Private Idaho” and “To Die For.”

Juley

I really don't care for the "rewatch" thing considering how many movies pop in and out of this list. Several less popular, yet amazing movies keep disappearing instead of being "Dealer's Choice"" picks.

Robert Kruger

Nashville is doing almost as bad as night of the hunter... that's a shame. It is really hard to guess which classic movies gain traction

Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

I am tripping !

richard

This film makes me want to use a spray bottle on JJ Abrams whenever he tries to go near a story.

Kaitlin

Could it finally be 10 Cloverfield Lane's time to shine? Not sure how he's gonna feel about the film itself, but those PERFORMANCES.

Tyler Worthington

It's too good to give up.

Robert Kruger

Add 'Good Will Hunting'

Randall Keizer

It’s been underexposed lately. It was definitely one of the “it” films of the time. I really hope it wins the poll sometime.

Kaitlin

Vice is great but after you’ve lived through it, it’s so hard to watch without grinding your teeth the whole time.

Kaitlin

You misread Sunrise for Sunshine ;-) Anyway my vote is for Elephant Man.

Brett Coster

The Elephant Man and Paris, Texas for me. This poll was very easy to vote.

Just got the War Kong Wai boxset so Chungking Express would also be good

Matt

I prefer PURPLE NOON 1960 to THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY but both good, my vote is for PARIS TEXAS this week

Matt

Just watched your reaction to Amelie. Next time you ask for suggestions, I'm going to submit Monsieur Lazhar. A beautiful (French speaking) film dealing with childhood emotions and trauma.

That said Vice is a very under rated film.

Bd Blake

RIP Jacob's Ladder. We Tried.

Bd Blake

For aspiring film directors, Paris Texas foots the bill for low budget independent film making. It also has a very touching story.

Sunshine and Terminator. :D Slingblade and Rumble In The Bronx as alternates.

CHUNGKING EXPRESS i know this is a movie that james will love and appreciate!!!!

I’m gonna start lookin like Fred the fish with his knees on the floor from Spongebob voting for Wong Kar-wai films

nick moose

Sunshine is a cool movie!

Underwater Sunlight (Eddy)

Very happy to see The Elephant Man on here!

Kaitlin

Of course Terminator is going to win and it is a cert classic but we have some some gems here that don't have a chance lol! Gross Point Blank is a fun one but my favourite on the list is Chungking Express. Gorgeous movie by Wong kor Wai. Great pick. Second vote goes to Nashville. I have never seen anything like this film before it is amazing!!!Also great songs

Marvelous Dolcy

Did The Terminator too cos why not? And hey, we got a Wong Kar-Wai up in here!

Bert Taverner

NASHVILLE!!!!!

Bert Taverner

Yayyyy! Thank you for adding Grosse Point Blank to the poll! I really hope it wins even if it’s an underdog. It’s hilarious.

Sonia Deepak

I have crossed all of my fingers in hopes for Grosse Pointe Blank, introducing people to that movie is, like, one of my things.

Wingates_Hellsing_42

How could I say no to Terminator for the first time?

Matthew Richson

It's not looking likely, but I really hope that Grosse Point Blank gets a look in. One of the best comedy scripts of the 90s, if not ever. And Danny Boyle's Sunshine is a gem.

Richard Akhtar-Dobson

I went with Paris, Texas, Chungking Express, and Rumble in the Bronx. But The Terminator's going to walk away with 1st place. And I never gave 10 Cloverfield Lane much thought but it's been doing great in the polls - I might need to check it out.

Ken

This is my favorite list. I don't even care which movies win. I'm going to be elated with the reaction videos no matter what.

Penultimate Tommy Wiseau

Nashville is on the poll! Please vote for this. This is the first Altman movie to be on the poll. James needs to see the original PT Anderson.

Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

The Talented Mr. Ripley baby

Patrick

Omg Paris, Texas pleasssse

McLovin

Grosse Point Blank is something I process in my mind as underrated, or rather, under-exposed to most audiences. Along with Kathryn Bigelow's Strange Days, something about those movies in particular that makes me almost conflate them.

W T

Going Vice and Sling Blade

Cody Price

Let’s go Elephant gang!

Emil Larsson
