Diane's character reminds me of Friday from the classic movie "His Girl Friday." (Do yourself a solid and put that one on your list of movies to watch) I feel that her character is the mold for Lois Lane from Superman a few years later, of which I hated Lois. I get the same vibes from both of them. Oddly enough His Girl Friday takes the opposite view of this movie, which is remade in 1988 under the title Switching Channels where "Friday" is modeled after Lois Lane (modeled after Diane, modeled after Friday OG), and Friday's boss is a reflection of Diane as played by Burt Reynolds! And Christopher Revee, the Superman himself, is in it as one of his last films. Crazy.

Where Network was the fall of the actual news, The Newsroom is about an entire news division trying to bring back the truthful news coverage back in modern day times. Really good amazing show and lasted for 3 seasons. Also, was not canceled was meant to be a 3 season show.
