I’m really glad to see this!! The Warriors is one of my top 5 films, and a huge amount of that, I think is that it really puts 1970s New York on display (I love films and shows that were actually shot in the city, especially before I was born). Plus the simplicity of the story and the fantastical versions of street gangs; it’s a film I can and do watch over and over again without getting bored.

2 actors worked a lot after this film. James Remar (Ajax) was in too many things to count, a lot of them big movies like 48 Hours and I know he is very good in Cruising. David Patrick Kelley (guy who shot Cyrus) is in a lot of David Lynch films and every season of Twin Peaks. Poor Michael Beck (Swan) was about to have a big a career off of this movie, but then he decided to take the lead role in Xanadu and barely ever worked again after that. This is my first time seeing this cut, I like it better but I kind of miss the more explicit parallels made between this film and Anabasis that the director's cut has.

Great reaction, glad it was the original theatrical cut. Walter Hill did a Director's Cut version which adds a comic book strip element over some of the scene switches, which he apparently wanted to do from the beginning but didn't have the budget. However I feel they look a bit tacky and take away some of the suspense of the scenes (especially when the Baseball Furies show up). And yes the bottle scene was improvised.
