In episode 5, in the scene where Jinx goes back to the old arcade, you can see some of the smallest little details of the animation. Slow it down and go frame by frame when she's thinking back to the past. If you look closely, you can see they actually animated the movements of her eyeballs *behind* her closed eyelids. Similarly, when she's spinning her gun around, if you stop each frame, you can see how they've used the same kind of ancient 2D animation techniques like they used in the early Disney films, to give the greater illusion of movement. They're all tiny little details that you don't even consciously notice, but they add a *ton* to the realism of the scene, and to how you perceive the overall effect. I honestly think the animation of this series is at *least* as groundbreaking and beyond anything that came before as, say, Toy Story was above earlier computer-generated animation.

Like when Jinx has sweat drop off her chin it cuts to Sevika's prosthetic leaking on the floor, and then all the parallels with Jayce and Mel making love/the Hexcore thing reacting to Viktor's blood, like. Man. This show was made with SO MUCH LOVE. It's great to see. One little detail I had pointed out for me on Reddit--Jinx's braid bindings are made of shell casings. It's bonkers. The character design is NUTS.
