Movie Reaction Poll

Vote on what I should watch and react to next! This Poll will end most likely Sunday and I'll choose the TOP 2 to react to next week on Monday & Wednesday!

We'll be approaching another recommendation list..so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Comments

Ride Like a Girl is a 2019 Australian biographical sports drama film directed by Rachel Griffiths in her feature film directing debut and starring Teresa Palmer and Sam Neill. It is based on the true story of Michelle Payne, the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup in 2015

Andy Hafler

Keep Network on. Explains current news media and was written in 1976

Randall Keizer

please add 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' the Swedish version original

Randall Keizer

Two things I’ve watched this week have been: nobody (hbomax) and wolf like me (peacock) nobody is very John wick-like (same writer) and wolf like me is a horror/ drama/ comedy. It’s super emotional and makes you forget the horror is right around the corner in every episode. I recommend the heck out of both.

J.S.Leeds

Well, my first vote ever on Patreon and I'll go for Network and Jacob's Ladder this time. Very "reactable" movies, if that makes sense.

I will keep fighting for Into the Wild. You'll for sure enjoy The Suicide Squad though and most certainly the Network.

JPOlsen

The Birdcage is a thoroughly entertaining motion picture but ONLY because of the performances of the late great Robin Williams and the incomparable Nathan Lane. The movie is ACTUALLY an adaptation/ripoff of the 1973 French play by Jean Poirot La Cage aux Folles which was first released as a motion picture in 1978 through United Artists and became a hit Broadway musical by Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein in 1983 proving once again Hollywood hasn't created an ORIGINAL idea for a motion picture in more than 40 years.

David W Richards

The Suicide Squad is so fun I had to vote for it. I also think that 10 Cloverfield Lane will be really great for this format.

Ken North

Would be nice if people could uncheck their pick for The Warriors so James can react to Network asap. I get it, The Warriors is a really good film but I just think Network is a much more important film. I checked only on Network and didn't pick a second choice.

H Blackwell

My 2 votes are fpor: 1. The Third Man (second iteration in the list) 2. Jacob's Ladder (1990 version)

Brett Coster

I want throw out a suggestion for next weeks poll. Resivoir Dogs, my favorite Tarentino film. It's a great example of story telling and film making.

Charles Allen

2021 Suicide Squad is nice movie, one of the more fun ones of last year. But are we seriously picking that over The Third Man and Network? James would probably watch SS on Friday sooner or later anyway...

Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

Yoooo you’ll love The Suicide Quad

Jack Diaz Doherty

The older I get and the more I find out how many Legends worked on The Birdcage, I can't believe it got almost ignored during awards season. It won a SAG award, a handful of others, and that's it? Obviously I grew up around Robin Williams and Nathan Lane who are icons, but I didn't realize until later Nichols and May made this. It almost makes me want to visit Florida.

Kaitlin

yup

Bert Taverner

Gotta love Mike Nichols and his old comedy partner Elaine May helping with the screenplay too!

Bert Taverner

Went for the Third Man and Network. Network was directed by Sidney Lumet, who also did 12 Angry Men and also did a film a year before Network that I highly recommend, Dog Day Afternoon. Guess he was really about commenting on how American society is spiraling out of control in the mid-'70s and who can blame him? Also, I want to shine a light on a very underrated filmmaker, Elaine May, who worked on the screenplay for The Birdcage, which was directed by her old comedy partner, Mike Nichols. Obviously, films he did like The Graduate and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? are highly recommended, but May's films A New Leaf and Mikey & Nicky are also great, great films.

Bert Taverner

I dont know if there is a common theme among those movies, but I would say "None of the Above" and do a reaction to Young Guns 1988. Awesome Western!!

Fernando

Third man on twice? Voted for both 😎

richard

Voting for The Third Man (even though I don't care for it lol) Network and The Birdcage

kimsmk

The Suicide Squad! YES!!!

Heath Cowart

The Wild Bunch

I'm still gonna bird dog James to add

Has he reacted to "Primer" yet?

Keith Alt

The Birdcage, not La Cage.

Kaitlin

so I guess we're never getting Primal Fear, huh? lol

Nikki Sonrisa

Into the wild will always be top 5 for me. Great soundtrack and storytelling

Daniel Gamel

IMHO, suicide Squad is necessary to watch before watching the much better Suicide Squad II or whatever the title is. I enjoyed both, but the 2nd one much more.

Jon Johns

The Birdcage is probably one of the most unique movies on this list.

Right?! I mean of course he would have to watch it eventually, but his opinion and commentary as a cinephile and filmmaker on "not so mainstream" films are more interesting (at least for me). I mean that's why I'm on his patreon, for the hidden underrated gems...

Sofia & Chill

What I chose, too. I would also choose The Third Man - but I'm not sure which one to vote for ;-)

Christiaan Van den Akker

Suicide Squad?? Seriously, people?

H Blackwell

The Third Man is 2nd place 👏

bobby

Oops - you've got The Third Man up twice, and it's splitting the votes it looks like...

Christiaan Van den Akker

Warriors and Network easily

Patrick Littlejohn

Birdcage? The American Version or the Original French Version?

Bd Blake

Warriors Come Out and Playyyyy.

Andy Hafler

Friends, I agree that Network and Jacob's Ladder are great, I'm just saying that The Birdcage is better and we could all use a little joy in our timelines right now. :D

Kaitlin

If you don't watch Network, I'll be mad as hell. 😁+😭

g g gooding

Theatrical cut of The Warriors! & Into the Wild. Classics

Darrell Maracle

The Third Man is listed twice…

Matthew Richson

The Third Man is winning ()! Voted for the Warriors too. James would appreciate it it's been referenced in Hip Hop and video games endlessly

Marvelous Dolcy

Jacob's Ladder and The Warriors. This a really good list, really spans eras and genres. Some good 40's movies that you don't get a chance to watch much any more. Oops just realized The Third Man is listed twice

Charles Allen

"I pierced the toast!"

Kaitlin

The Birdcage! Thank you! (Happy to see The Third Man on here twice. It's that good!)

Kaitlin

Primal Fear and The Birdcage for me. Love those movies

Devyn Johnson

If you put aside the funny and the gore, The Suicide Squad has a bunch of interesting cinematic techniques, camera work and photography. And for all the action and camera moves it has, is almost always smooth. So yeah, good choice.

Evo García

Going for Suicide Squad and Network

Cody Price
