There's so many HBO series to recommend, but I'd put Damon Lendelof's three season masterpiece The Leftovers up near the top of the pantheon of greatest shows ever made. It's also a show that snuck under the radar for most people which is why searching for reactions to it doesn't come up with a whole lot. I've highly enjoyed your True Detective reactions so I hope sometime later The Leftovers makes your watch list.

I would love to hear your thoughts on seasons 2 and 3 as I think they are severely underrated(season 3 is particularly stellar) and deserve a fair shake even against the monolith that is season one.

Also, looking for Limited Series, highly recommend Godless, a western, and the Queen’s Gambit, a really good chess film with a female chess player that’s kind of the Michael Jordan of chess that’s at the top of her game including trash talking as well (never seen a chess film/series where the players really try to roast each other while playing before; was refreshing and unique and entertaining), both on Netflix. Highly Recommend the Queen’s Gambit.

You said that you were doing a new TV poll, and already going to be doing Falcon and Winter Soldier. Since you are into sci-fi, I’d recommend Person of Interest (HBO Max), Westworld (HBO Max), and Travelers (Netflix). Also, non sci-fi shows I would recommend Newsroom (HBO Max), Yellowstone (Peacock), Jack Ryan (Amazon), Mindhunter (Netflix) and Cobra Kai (Netflix). Cobra Kai (series is a sequel to the original Karate Kid films and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are back as Daniel and Johnny; actually Johnny’s probably more the main star in this series and Daniel is more supporting this time around; highly recommend this series though) and Jack Ryan would probably have the biggest fan following. I’d probably say my two favorite out of this list is Cobra Kai and The Newsroom.

Btw J, u said bout to watch 2nd & 3rd season I’d highly recommend u to watch S2, fans didn’t like it cuz they’re expected to see new Rust & Marty’s journey, but it’s completely different and cool! If anyones interested in Rust's philosophy of life and being, theres a book where a lot of lines of his dialogue were inspired from called "The Conspiracy Against The Human Race" by Thomas Ligotti. It's a rough book to get through, so you've been warned! haha

Everytime after finishing this show, I just have to sit there and think for a while. In my first viewing I was enthralled by the philosophical attitude of the show, but with recent watches, I can't help but think that this season demonstrates the nature of power and elite criminality better than any other show, especially considering what we know about Epstein and his cohorts. Anyways, thanks so much for these great reactions and I hope you react to Eyes Wide Shut at some point because it covers similar themes but in a different, but equally intriguing way.
