Yeah people are weird. Mr Robot as a finished show, Succession as ongoing - it's not even like there's that many episodes. Mr Robot stomps on the other 4. Also, if Matthew McConaughey wants to do TV he should have called Michael Connelly and said "put me in coach" re the new Lincoln Lawyer tv series..

True Detective is good but Fargo is just so relentlessly entertaining and thrilling. True Detective takes itself a little too seriously- lots of long monologues and exposition. Fargo is really fantastic

True Detective S1 is one of those shows that really showcases how great TV can be. S2 and 3 aren't as bad as their rep suggest, just so disappointing that lightning didn't strike twice. Fargo I think it's another great example of the power of story telling through a limited series. I've loved every season. It's no disrespect to Fargo that True Detective is better, as said in other comments it's a masterpiece. The Wire is also so good, I think it is the foundation that a lot of TV now builds on. So many hours of great TV, there are other great choices up there but these three are musts. Might throw The Soprano's in there you if never seen it.

Yessssssss. True Detective - Season 1 is my favorite season of television of all time.

Mr Robot has one of the worst endings in TV history, but True Detective is a must.

True Detective is absolutely amazing. If it wins you will not be disappointed at all. McConaughey and Harrelson are amazing in it

True Detective season 1 is an absolute masterpiece, you'll love it I have no doubt. The seasons are entirely disconnected stories with different actors and settings. The general consensus is that S2 is weak and S3 is okay. But man that 1st season is just incredible

Uk utopia from 2013 (not the recent USA version!) should be on this list as one of the best television shows ever. The problem is that it is very hard to find in an unedited version. Check it out and I’ll give you my copy.

I haven't seen a single person react to Black Mirror yet. Every episode is different but all episodes take place in the same Universe. It's a really cool and different show. I love rewatching it.

These are five choices of damn near perfect shows! While I'm obsessed w Peaky & MR R (bc imo they're brilliant works of Historical Fiction) Fargo & TD are based on true stories, which can be strangely gratifying. Can ya'll believe that Black Mirror is the LEAST violent... yet has society's most self-reflecting messages!?

Definitely go with True Detective I would also like to see you look up the first couple seasons of Miami Vice (1984-1986) just so you can see a show that revolutized TV

Kinda obscure but check out a trailer for Channel 4's 'Utopia'. it's super underrated and really interesting. Amazon recently did a pretty bad remake but at least it gave some more attention to the old one
