This is never going to win any polls, but I recently rewatched The Scent of Green Papaya for the first time since it was released in 1993 and I forgot what a beautiful film it is. It would be great if you could react to it some time (or maybe Indochine, which won best foreign film at the 1993 Oscars). The early 90s was a good time for Vietnamese films.

Walder Frey

Punch-Drunk Love

Grunwalski

Thanks for all the recommendations!! Gonna shift through these and choose which ones top have on the Poll tomorrow! Gonna use this list for this month's polls!

Ran I noticed somebody else had already suggested Once upon a time in the west, so I'll add this movie to the list. One can not have too much of Kurosawa.

Paul Steffens

It's not a movie, but you should really watch the five-part miniseries Chernobyl (HBO). It's very hard to get through (due to the subject matter), but *exquisitely* filmed. I'd love to see your reaction, as a filmmaker.

Robyn

one cut of the Dead!!

Sarah Manamtam

Interstellar (specially interested in the ice scenes...)

Christopher Thwaites

Once Upon A Time In America

12 years a slave

Network (1976) Sidney Lumet

Penultimate Tommy Wiseau

American Beauty or Baby Driver! (as other comments said) but if you have seen those ones then Little Miss Sunshine (2006)!

Climax (2018) by Gaspar Noé is an unforgettable experience of a film. Both shocking and mesmerizing.

I was deliberating between this and Fight Club so I'm glad somebody else suggested it!

Richard Akhtar-Dobson

American Beauty

Dan Hensley

That's more than one...

Richard Akhtar-Dobson

Pink Floyd – The Wall.

Mr Zilla

Yesssss please

This 100%

Chelsea Warkentine

Heat (1995) dir. Michael Mann. The way Mann presents and portrays L.A. is absolutely fantastic. This is the first movie where Al Pacino and Robert De Niro share a scene and it's really epic. It also features the single best shootout sequence ever. This film really changed the game. Once you watch it, you realize how influential it is. So many crime thrillers have been inspired in some way by Heat, from The Dark Knight to more recently Den of Thieves, which straight up copied it.

The Fall

Brittyn Lindsey
