"Usopp no nami da" translates to 'Usopp's tears'
'Nami' can be wave or tears
"no" attributes ownership of the following word to the previous word, like adding " 's " to the end of a noun.
Speaking of learning the language, there was a time way back where you could have watched OP and learned a fair bit of Japanese at the same time if you pay close attention. You seem to have a similar compulsion to mimic noises you hear, and I have no doubt you could pick up a bunch like I did.
I wish they hadn't stopped releasing episodes, but there was this amazing fansub group, "KaizokuFansubs" or "PirateFansubs". They had this really interesting philosophy for translating anime, where they would pay homage to words with canon specific meanings that don't translate well to English. Starting from the Arlong Park arc, they began gradually began selecting words, and they would provide the english pronunciation and way of writing, which I'm using in my comments to tell you what different words mean. It's called 'romaji' and you can ask an AI like ChatGPT to help you out with translating anything you need to know, and for learning the language as well, honestly.
For example, 'friend' and 'crew' have different words that are used. "Tomodachi" for friend and "Ichimi" for crew. There are other ways of referring to 'crew' and 'friend', and they all have different hierarchical meanings, but there is one word used very often in OP, especially by the StrawHats and in particular Luffy.
This word is 'nakama'. It can mean friend or it can mean crew, and different characters use it interchangeably to mean either, but to Luffy it is much more than this. To him, his nakama are kindred spirits. They are family, not bound by blood but by strength of purpose or a shared goal. People he respects deeply and considers irreplaceable. That's one of the reasons you'll see him get mad when coldhearted characters refer to their underlings as 'nakama'. It's why in the english version, Luffy said nami was his 'friend' AND that they were 'crew'
Another one is 'mikan', the actual name for Bellemere's so-called tangerines. Mikan are symbolic of a number of things that fit well thematically with Nami's character, the most obvious of which being MONEY lol.

maybe, but I feel even if they did I don't think he would have listened to reason, he was already insecure after losing the money hamming on that the merry can't be fixed and I feel for him the merry means a lot to usopp.

I'm always happy when One Piece makes Nerdy cry. :3
Thankfully, I know it will happen over and over again in the future.

With regard to Franky's crotch: they showcase Nami's tits often enough; it's only fair

Some people need some slaps to be put back into reality land... it really REALLY does help, believe me. Happened to me a few times (getting punched) and it ALWAYS ended up making me a better person.. it helps putting you in a reflective state of mind
Now that I think about it... Usopp is a bit like Hughie from The Boys... he wants to keep the cat alive so bad... no regard for reality or the cat (at least not yet)

fun fact the "Klabautermann" is an actual real world German folktale! Great way of Oda adapting real life folktales into the world of One Piece.

Usopp is to this day the only Strawhat I hate and the one I hope eventually dies for dueling Luffy while knowing he was in the wrong.
