2023-09-30 11:44:50 +0000 UTCalso.... on the topic of aliens... a team of scientists who launched a probe to the surface of Mars in the 70's discovered evidence of living microorganisms on the planet's surface (they detected metabolic activity when they put what was basically bacteria food on the ground) and no one ever did a followup for that, and then back in 2020, scientists discovered phosphine in the clouds around Venus, which is a potential biosignature of microorganisms in a low oxygen environment. NOT TO MENTION THE INCIDENT THAT WAS 'OUMUAMUA IN 2017. so not only is the government keeping aliens a secret, but the scientific community has been poopooing evidence of alien life (even if it's just bacterial life, that's still insane) for decades. time to don the tinfoil hats i guess

If you have the tech to travel to other solar systems, you have to the tech to harvest any resources you want much closer to home. IF any aliens are here, it's not for our resources.
