Okay that was my long-winded analysis of the love triangle dynamic, but just purely reacting to this episode for fun I looooved the song choices and the beach scene acting was phenomenal my heart quite literally broke into pieces. I feel for them both. I still have the song Billie Eillish song stuck in my head. Beautiful gowns everyone looked great this ep. Dont care much for the side plots but I'm glad Laurel and dude are maybe getting together and I really think Denise and Steven could be cute, but there's so much wrapped up and unfinished with Taylor that I honestly think Denise should just keep it purely business at this point.

I agree it's mess on all three sides(I didn't read the books either) but yeah Conrad's avoidant tendencies and lack of effective communication really started all of this, but Belly's inability to see that she was essentially rebounding with Jere in season two kept all of this going because I defend a lot of their actions since they are young and dealing with a lot of trauma but jumping from brother to brother like this is craaaazy work. There's just no way for that not to end in pain for all involved. And Jere is not innocent, as well. He definitely held a lot of resentment for Belly and Conrad in season one with the whole firework scene and saying he didn't want to see them at Thanksgiving. Not to mention the cheating which was Ross/Rachel levels of egregious. Because he does not, in my opinion, really seem truly remorseful for that. Proposing on the steps of the hospital where your comatose brother is overcompensating and then the whole complex he has with his father just makes this wedding seem like he's trying to prove something to other people when he really just needs to do a lot of healing work. It doesn't feel like the proposal was solely just because he loved Belly and I agree with your commentary that this is just not who he is, he's forcing it. All in all, in want Belly to love herself more. This behavior screams insecure, for everyone really and its just gonna end so horribly. I'm excited for the last few eps though and thank you both for reacting to this! 💗

Also, I feel like Jeremiah did get together with Belly fully knowing that there was still something between her and Conrad. At the end of Season 2, Jeremiah tells Belly “there’ll always be something between you and Conrad”, the next day Jeremiah asks Conrad if he’s still in love with Belly. Conrad tells him yes. The next morning, Jeremiah and Belly get together. So if for some reason, Jeremiah bought into Belly being completely done with Conrad (which I don’t think he did given what he said 2 days before), at the very least he knew that Conrad still loved her. I just don’t understand why he ever put himself in that position to begin with, but then again, I didn’t understand why he did that in Season 1 either when he knew that Belly & Conrad liked each other. It’s like he keeps setting himself up which is even crazier to me when he’s the one person in this triangle who knew the truth about everyone’s feelings in Seasons 1 and 2.

The thing is, Conrad’s feelings and timing is irrelevant. Belly shouldn’t be calling off this wedding based on what Conrad does or doesn’t do. She should be calling off this wedding because she knows it’s not what she wants. She’s not ready to be a wife. She knows that she’s still not over Conrad. She spent one day with him and has been feeling this way for 7 months apparently (since Christmas) yet she still chose to get engaged to Jeremiah when she knew she had unresolved feelings for his brother. She’s been second guessing this wedding for weeks and has had ample time to call it off and not let it get to this point. The fact that we’re still here so close to a wedding is her fault, not Conrad’s for not confessing earlier.
