Hey everyone!
This week I've been working on the Kitchen-background, and I wanted share some of my progress with you.

So here you can see a GIF of the steps I took to make this illustration.

As always, I started with a rough sketch, then did the linework & finally I added the colors.
But in this case I had to do an extra round of sketching to detail the designs of the robot-hands. Now I find it a fun challenge, to make the designs mechanically work. However, by doing this, I often end up with rather clunky, silly machines. But I kinda like that :)
The kitchen also has a window, which looks straight into the Biogarden. (If you take a look at the map, you'll see how they are connected.) Now, I didn't draw the entire garden again, but I imported parts from the Biogarden and made a new composition from that. This keeps the garden recognizable & saves me some time as well :)
Well, the next step is breaking up the illustration in parts, so I can export them to the game.
Some of these parts are items you can pick up, and others are needed for animations. In this case the robot on the left will be cooking something, while it's moving around a bit. So I had to break it up in 3 parts.
This GIF is an overview of the parts that I will be exporting.

Well, that's it for the Kitchen. But I also worked on some other art this week, like the inventory-items. I won't tell to much about what's what, but maybe you can already guess what you are looking at? :)

Allright, that was it for this week. I'm looking foreward to the poll results & I'll be sharing more art soon :)
All the best!
Robin
PS. Thanks to the growing number of Patrons, I am now finally able to take the first steps towards expanding my one-man team :) For a short while now I've been collaborating with Rob, my new programmer, and he has truly been a great help so far! It's just really nice to be able to share the workload a bit & it looks like it will speed up the production as well.
Now this means a lot to me, and I realize very well, that I could never have gotten to this point, without your support. So I'm very grateful for it & it really allows me to make the most of this project. And that's just awesome, so... thank you once more, for I really, really appreciate it! :)
