Art: Massage room guests, poses for Keen & more!

here's a small update on what I've been doing lately :)


Code -skip buttons


As you might know, I recently started colaborating with Rob, a professional programmer. And he's been a great help in tackeling some of the remaining code issues in the game.

One ongoing issue was, that each game-update would break your savegames. So, to be able to get to the new game content, it was mandatory to replay the game. But good news! Rob found a solution and added 'skip-buttons' to the game; which will allow you to start at any chapter you want :)  

This might seem like an obvious solution, but  the difficulty was that each skip button involves setting 50 to a 100 triggers in the right position. And the clever part is that Rob managed to automate this, so we don't have to do that by hand (at each update). Huray!

Art & Story - Lorza


Now while Rob was working on the code,  I've been making some art for Lorza her storyline (the alien masseuse) :) Now although I really like this storyline, there were also some practical reasons to work on this. Mainly the story involves  rooms & items that are required in other storylines as well.

But I can't complain, it's a real fun story to work on, and it involves several animated masssage scenes :) So I've been drawing a lot of poses for that. But sicnce I don't want to spoil too much, I'll just be showing a glimpse of what I made so far (note, several characters are missing here).

This is the first girl that will get a massage.

These are a few shots from the second girl... And yes, there will be more girls!

And here are a few of the new poses for Keen, these belong to the massage scenes a well.

Retro futuristic Kitchen

And last but not least; I've been working on the ships kitchen. And everytime I make a backround like this, I think 'how will this room look in the future' ?  

Now, my kitchen has a lot of apliances that make it easier for me to cook and clean. And it's easy to imagine we will only get more of those in the future. And as those appliances become more of the standard, they will probably get more integrated into the kitchen itself (like our dishwasher).  So I took that as a starting point for this drawing. And of course I added a few helping hands, that move over rails, so they have a lot of reach.

But when I thought about it some more, I came up with one more detail, that would probably add a lot of comfort to the kitchen.  And that's the 'variable height' of the kitchen :) I mean, how nice would it be if you could raise or lower different sections of the kitchen, so it's perfect for your height?  Well, that's what the pedals are for on the bottom-right.

Now these details are fun to imagine, but they also give me a lot to hold on to, when thinking of story-elements. So let's see how I can tie this into a sexy kitchen scene :)
