Friday Watch Day Share Out

My Friday has been a wildfire of wtf-ery....such is life sometimes when you work on a college campus as many things can go sideways and sometimes all at once. But--it's noon--and I'm taking a minute to breathe and check in. This week I watched Ballboy Tactics, a sweet and easy Korean BL that I didn't love but found perfectly pleasant and that's kinda all I wanted for investment. I'm also caught up to Better Late Than Single which I'm watching with my youngest daughter, Poppy, and we're both ALL in at this point. Yes, Amy and Megan are caught up now too and we'll be doing a pod on it at some point.
What are you watching and how is it resonating? Also, it's WILD to have everyone I know chatting about South Park again. I feel like this elder at my job where I can say "I remember Satan's FIRST boyfriend." Who knew a little mountain town in Colorado plus some bad (perfectly executed) AI would lead the resistance. 2025 continues to surprise!

Kathleen I understand your feelings toward the FL in Will Love in Spring. She is strong, selfish and at times hurtful towards the ML. They are both hurt people and what I loved was how they resolved the difficulties between them. I hope you give it another chance. Yes, in all the excitement there are very long pauses for dramatic effects in Coroner's Diary. There are definitely faux pass that have me eye rolling at times too but overall I'm really enjoying this drama for the entertainment value & visual splendour and I've especially enjoyed the romances between the three main couples, especially the lead.

I constantly wonder what’s happening with the other singles, like the two game changers. Paused First Night WTD after she (spoiler) spent the 2nd night with him and no one seemed to mind. Paused Will Love in Spring because I couldn’t handle the FL’s treatment of the ML. So I went way back many years and watched Go Go Squid for Li Xian. I was entertained. Lots of familiar faces. And Chinese actors are reminding me of Korean actors 😆 For example, Solo (Li Ze Feng) reminded me of an older Kang Tae Oh. Currently watching Flourished Peony for the GGS couple. Also watching Coroner’s Diary but beginning the roll my eyes at how long people can be in burning buildings and escape unharmed.

2025-07-26 12:04:19 +0000 UTCI started Hotel Del Luna! I’m only halfway through the first episode, so it’s too early for me to have much of an opinion except that IU’s wardrobe is amazing. I’m loving Coroner’s Diary over on iQIYI, but my number one obsession right now is ABO Desire. So happy that Ep 5 is dropping today. I was so excited about the Patreon Live but I have to attend a professional development workshop today instead 😩
