Definitely enemies to lovers. More distance to cover in the evolution of the relationship, more growing toward each other, which is the part I like best. Plus that inevitable hot moment of confrontation that turns into passion gets me every time. I have trouble believing childhood connections, and they feel super static to me. It's kinda weird to be hung up on the same person since you were 6! Love Next Door is the only one I can think of where I believed it and didn't mind, because they had other relationships and you also saw the really awkward parts and the family complications and the hesitation toward putting the friendship at risk. It made me squirm, which it should. Loving Motel California but it has this problem, it's like he's been frozen in place for a decade.
