I’ve been talking to another non-Patreon listener about Nigerian entertainment and parallels they draw to Kdrama and they have been generous in offering some examples of shows to recommend and I’ve got a few queued up on Netflix and YouTube. By not means do I expect labor from anyone but I’m always happy to hear about great recs that center stories from the global majority. I do want to point out that in this episode and the exploration of rom-coms all the examples of United States content were overwhelmingly white. Except the mention of Crazy Rich Asians, everything else majority had all white casts (or included the token POC). I wanted to share this because as a Black Woman there were so many missed opportunities to share with listeners and I began to wonder about the United States media you all consume. Just wanted to share my feedback. I love these topic based episodes and discussions of US media and Korean media.
