Friday Watch Day

I thought it was Thursday but no here we are!

What are you all watching?

This week I finished Queen of Tears, binged 98% of Taiwanese BL Unknown in a single sitting with no regrets (everyone go watch and talk to me about it), and decided to go “old school” and start It’s Okay, That’s Love. I’m only one episode in but it was a good episode and I’m excited for the premise and cast.

Let’s hear all the stuff, gang!

Midnight Studio did have a good soundtrack. Count On Me and I Wonder Why stick out for me. Some spoilers. There was a point I thought Ji Won's brain tumour was going to come back and she was going to die and have some sort of bittersweet HEA with Dae Ri. I can't see how their relationship is ever going to last and doesn't he need to leave anyway before he becomes an evil spirit?

I’m loving all this related to Lovely Runner. Stick it in my veins!!! I don’t know if I’ve been this enamored with a lead since Good Boy. Finished Blood Free and while I loved it the ending was a bit too open ended foe me and I have about a 1,001 question. Fingers crossed we get a second season. Also finished Midnight Studio and to say the ending was a let down would be an understatement. So many threads just pointlessly unresolved is one of my biggest pet peeves. I don’t think I would recommend but I still enjoyed it overall. Also the song Superstitions on the OST was a real fav for me. Started Frankly Speaking and Atypical Family and i have no idea what the tone is for either of these. Frankly Speaking really zagged for me at the end of episode 4 so we’ll see. Atypical Family is interesting and if anything I’m here to see what transpires with our young leads Park So-Yi (who was so good in See You in My 19th Life) and Moon Woo Jun (who crushed In Castaway Diva). Looking forward to Wi Ha Joon’s new drama.

That got a hell yeah from me too! Gen X approves (as much as we can) and notes that if you’re gonna sell out, this is the way!

So I’m waiting for the next episodes of The Atypical Family and Lovely Runner to drop. I’m seeing chatter on this feed about It’s Okay, That’s Love. I decide to check it out and ep 1 has Gong Hyo Gin (a queen) strutting around to a Pixies cover of Here Comes Your Man. Two of my great loves came together in that moment and I felt a supernova explode in my brain. The Pixies music in a Kdrama!!! How did I not know this existed ???
