It's Not Spring, But We're Talking Easter...Eggs

I want to know one of your favorite drama "easter eggs." If you're not sure what I'm talking about,  an "easter egg" refers to a hidden or subtle reference, message, image, or feature that is included by the creators for the audience to discover. They are generally fun, reward fans, and provide a sense of satisfaction for those astute enough to notice them (ahem, Amy). They can come in various forms:

  1. References to Other Media: TV shows may include references to other movies, TV series, books, or pop culture icons. These references can be in the form of visual clues, dialogue, or even music.
  2. Hidden Messages: Sometimes, there are hidden messages or codes within the show that require careful observation or decoding to uncover.
  3. Cameo Appearances: Creators might sneak in cameo appearances by other characters or actors from different shows or movies.
  4. Visual Gags: Easter eggs can be visual jokes or gags that are not immediately noticeable but are clever and humorous when discovered.
  5. Foreshadowing: In some cases, creators use easter eggs to foreshadow future events or plot developments in the series.
  6. Character Connections: Easter eggs can establish connections between characters or storylines in a shared universe, such as in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  7. Historical or Cultural References: TV shows might incorporate hidden references to historical events, famous people, or cultural phenomena.
  8. Inside Jokes: Creators sometimes include inside jokes or references that only dedicated fans will understand and appreciate.

The train to Busan reference in Goblin is the pinnacle

Cate

Just watching Behind Your Touch which has numerous and very purposeful references to 2521 and My Liberation Notes (which has the same ML although that doesn't seem to be the connection)

I'm currently watching Yumi's Cells 2, and the Gong Yoo and Goblin refs are the only things keeping me watching. Kim Soo Hyun in CLOY. And Kim Soo Hyun as a teaser in Hotel Del Luna. I swear, that has been the biggest scam in K-Drama ever. The Extraordinary You ref in True Beauty. Im Chul Soo interviewing for an entry position in Unlock My Boss. Of course the Train to Busan ref in Goblin. The Memories of the Alhambra music when Captain Ri is playing video games in CLOY. The Park Bo Gum ref by Choi Moo Sung in Prison Playbook. There's a ref to Super Junior in She Was Pretty, the K-Pop Group Siwan is in. The Squid Game and Red Sleeve refs in King The Land. The apartment complex the boys live in in Semantic Error is named after the creator of the Manhwa and Novel, J. Soori.
