2022-11-22 03:40:05 +0000 UTCI agree with everything already said, and I would add that Descendants of the Sun as a title made little sense to me and explained nothing about the drama. I cannot even remember if there is some reference to it in the drama. Another would be One Spring Night; the title is super vague and almost made me not watch it though Jung Hae In was starring.

If anyone can give me a drama that rehabilitates Han So Hee for me, please let me know. After seeing her in this role and her role in Nevertheless, I am not a fan. 3. Doom At Your Service--I get it? It seems like it would be funnier with a title like that. 4. Lovers of the Red Sky. 5. Ummmm-- BOYS OVER FLOWERS. What? What is that? 6. While I love it, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo is too long. Pick Moon Lovers or Scarlet Heart Ryeo and go with it. 7. Flower of Evil? Can someone clarify that one for me? Does that mean a blood flower if someone is shot/stabbed? 8. Not a "non-reflection," but an accuracy thing: it should be My Love From Another Planet, not My Love From The Star. (It could be a mistranslation. My Love From The Stars (plural) makes it make sense.) 9. When the Camellia Blooms didn't grip me. I guess I get why the name fits after watching it, but it doesn't quite match the story for me.

Others cited, like Come and Hug Me and Our Beloved Summer, are right up there, too. I would add Must You Go? and even If You Wish Upon Me. Neither of those titles made sense to me.

LOL maybe that's why it took me so long to watch it, the name did not grab me. There is no dancing in Hometown Cha Cha Cha. I don't even know where to begin with "Nevertheless"

Come and Hug Me is not at all what that show is about…though SPOILER it is something the FL tells the ML (to do) when they are children. That title screams rom com to me, which…nope. Also, Tomorrow. Which, again, I guess is oblique in its “live to see another day” suicide prevention plot…but how does that say “grim reaper show?” It does not. 😂

2022-11-18 04:20:13 +0000 UTCI always forget the name of the drama with Rowoon and Won Jin Ah (and just now I looked it up to make sure I have it right): She Would Never Know. To me it sounds like a thriller, which it’s not, and the title really doesn’t make sense because the ML tells her what 'she would never know' in the first couple episodes. The Korean title (Sunbae don’t put that lipstick on) makes more sense; there’s a memorable scene (it's a bit offensive, IMO) in which Rowoon’s character basically uses that phrase and the show is set in the cosmetic’s industry.

2022-11-18 04:19:33 +0000 UTCI'm going to go out on a limb here actually and say that k- drama English titles are more often odd than representative . But I know accurate drama title translations are possible because the subtitles are usually terrific. It's strange.
