Weekend update
Added 2022-09-03 18:57:30 +0000 UTCI’m up camping up on the Mendocino coast this weekend but did I download a pack of dramas to watch in my tent. I’m gorging on Love Mechanics right now which is on the Tencent app and quality Thai BL angst. What are you watching?

I am really loving Today's Webtoon. As someone said earlier, the characters are all wonderful. Definitely a feel good drama, and totally entertaining. Also giving some insight to the webtoon world. Lots of actors you'd all recognize too.

2022-09-06 22:55:37 +0000 UTCI watched the first two episodes of Little Women and plan to rewatch them to see if I missed any details or clues. It’s beautifully filmed, the acting is excellent, and I hope the storytelling continues to be this tight and mysterious through the next 10 episodes (yay – a 12 ep kdrama!). I’m also watching If You Wish Upon Me (love), Today’s Webtoon (like), and started Dali & the Cocky Prince (I’m still on the fence). Plus I’m rewatching My Roommate is a Gumiho – it was one of my first kdramas and I remembered it as problematic, so I wanted to give it a second chance. I like the folklore, especially the red thread of fate, and the two male leads are stunning, but I still have problems with the amount of controlling and stalking behavior.

2022-09-05 17:34:24 +0000 UTCI started Good Job last night. So so fun and a good balance against the heavy dramas. I liked the leads in Bossam Steal the fate - their chemistry was great. so all in for a reincarnated couple into modern drama . It’s a bit a modern day Batman / Sherlock Holmes that doesn’t take itself to seriously with way too many tropes in 12 episodes from ENA. Total suspend reality and just laugh at some of the ridiculous scenes. Hoping it keeps going strong.

I tried doubling up on Tomorrow and If You Wish Upon me this weekend, but I they are too sad to do both at the same time, so I also started WWW Secretary Kim, which I am LOVING! PSJ is such a gorgeous man and his acting is sooo good in each of the 3 completely different characters I've seen him play (itaewon class, fight for my way, and now Secretary Kim). He should get a Baeksang simply for keeping a straight face on that rollercoaster! LOL!

2022-09-05 05:08:03 +0000 UTCFinished Extraordinary Attorney Woo and really enjoyed it. Fun to watch as a former lawyer, seeing the apparent differences between Korean and US law. The very deliberate way the creators wanted everything to end happily for everyone was just what I needed. Even if there were some less than realistic details 😝 Trying to decide what to watch next. Either Tomorrow or Alchemy of Souls? I also have to decide if I want to keep watching KinnPorsche, which I kind of stalled out on. Can't figure out if I am not interested, or if I started falling asleep last episode I watched bc I was just too tired.

2022-09-05 01:42:30 +0000 UTCI'm 'camping' at my bfs house while he is at dragoncon (to avoid an unpleasant Airbnb guest I am hosting), and cruising through Yumi's Cells. I finished My Love from the Star and Melting Me Softly recently. Both were ok but mlfas was a product of its time and I felt the writing for the FL really missed the humor mark. MMS also I just felt like the writing was not as compelling as it could have been. Maybe I'm being too picky. I'm usually in Kdrama Land for comfort, not to eat my cinematic vegetables, as it were, but it seems I still need a strong, believable hook. Why was KinnPorche so much more interesting than either of those two (steaminess aside)?

It’s a 28 episode makjang with evil stepmother tropes and all that I didn’t think I’d like but it’s working for me. It features Han Hyo Joo the actress from Happiness who I’ve been girl crushing over. It also features Moon Chae Won from Flower of Evil and she’s playing the sort-of-evil but mostly pitiful stepsister and it’s so interesting to see her as a younger actress.

Happy to see Faith the Great Doctor in it - does she ever age??? - and this is my intro to Rowoon. Now I know what you are all talking about! Halfway through Suspicious Partner. While I love Ji Chang Wook, I am stalled and wish it would wrap up. Glad to hear people like If you Wish Upon Me. It is on my list. Looking forward to The Law Cafe to get my Lee Seung Gi fix!
