Binge Binge Binge, Yum Yum Yum
Added 2022-08-18 04:47:57 +0000 UTCWhat drama was your most epic binge? I’m talking you gave up sleep, family and friends, and generally lost the plot until you finished.

CLOY was my first K drama and the first watching of it was a gradual ramp up to a binge ( I didn’t know this was even a thing) and then I immediately watched it again in a full blown binge where every day my husband would ask me what I was doing???? I probably just stared at him, like, what a stupid question. I’ve come to realize I am a binger And a keeper of lists of all the Korean shows and movies I have watched since April 2020

2022-08-18 23:55:29 +0000 UTCGoblin was definitely my gateway binge, but Encounter and Extraordinary You are close behind. I also really loved and rapidly binged a cute Jdrama called Incurable Case of Love that is on Viki. I was a fan of the Rurouni Kenshin anime in college so I knew the ML from the film adaptations. It was cute and had a lot of fun moments, and I'm slowly trying to learn Japanese so I rewatch every so often to see if I can understand more than before (and yes, a little more each time :)

2022-08-18 23:52:07 +0000 UTCCLOY was my first and probably longest binge - not only did I watch it in about 3 days, I then binge re-watched it immediately afterwards and then again for a third time before I was able to move on to something else. I'm fairly certain I have not watched an English language show (other than sports) since.

2022-08-18 22:29:07 +0000 UTCOne Spring Night... so heartwarming! And I don't have a notebook but I do have a to do list on my phone where I capture dramas I want to watch and check off ones that I have watched. I go through the list every once in awhile and reminisce!

2022-08-18 18:05:25 +0000 UTCCLOY wasn’t my first kdrama, but it was my gateway for binge watching. Also, I Am Not a Robot was one of my quickest watches, even though (please don’t kick me out) I’m not its biggest fan. I was still super invested in the high stakes set up and how it would end.

2022-08-18 16:57:39 +0000 UTCCLOY was my biggest binge, I remember not sleeping for days to finish that one. I also binged It's Ok but don't think I have lost sleep over a Kdrama like I did CLOY.

2022-08-18 16:09:26 +0000 UTCKingdom. I watched on the TV. Ate my meals while watching. And then watched on my laptop in bed instead of sleeping. So. Good.

2022-08-18 14:09:00 +0000 UTCHealer (which I have binged rewatched, too) and I Am Not a Robot. Those 2 are the most notable for me, but I actually binge a lot because, like Laura P. Heatherington, I have a lot of time. Of course, some of my passions and pass times, like reading, have waned, but that’s life, isn’t it?

2022-08-18 13:30:59 +0000 UTCI’ve gotten into fan editing so even though I can’t technically binge a live drama…per hour spent EAW has taken up most of my waking hours for…far too long.

2022-08-18 13:08:18 +0000 UTCI binged Memories of the Alhambra. It's by no means my favorite drama, but I really wanted to know what would happen in the game. The King Eternal Monarch was another binge. Honestly, though, I will watch into the wee hours of the morning with most dramas.

2022-08-18 12:46:19 +0000 UTCWhen I "discovered" kdramas in Spring 2021, I binged EVERYTHING! Retired, solo living, pandemic-nothing-else-to-do, I did not get out of my recliner for 8 hours a day, except for brief necessities of life, for probably weeks. Standouts from those first months of giddy watching: One Spring Night, Something in the Rain, CLOY, Lovestruck in the City, When the Camellia Blooms, Healer, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, the Reply series. EVERY show led me to go down the rabbit holes of other shows with those actors. I had to keep a notebook of my favourite shows and actors. I still find it odd to have to wait for the weekly episodes of current shows. Plus, adulting every day.........
