Weekend Watching

Hello everyone! Jet lag is slowly releasing its claws into me. Although I had an exceptionally vivid dream last night that there was a tiny (finger-length) snake next to my bed and my husband refused to remove it. I woke up annoyed until I release none of it was real.

Who is watching what? I’ve been on a bit of a bender. I watched Thai BL Love Mechanics on Viki which according to Patreon Alison is now airing an extended length version on a new app so I guess I’m in. I finished Itaewon Class in four days and now need to redo all my top favorite lists as I adored it. I also have caught the latest In The Soop Friendcation episode.

Now I need to finish Pachinko before Amy kills me, I’m back on Tharn Type and I need to catch up on Insider as I’ve been neglecting Kang Ha Neul. I feel like there is A LOT I want to see at the moment. It’s hard work being a devoted fan lol.

Alison, do you happen to know the difference between the two versions (En of Love vs the one airing now)? I’m a little confused since the actors look the same but have been planning to jump into the new one.

Ooh, I’m excited for this. He was beyond adorable in 39 and I really like her. https://kdramakisses.com/2022/08/02/park-bo-young-and-yeon-woo-accept-starring-roles-in-daily-dose-of-sunshine/

Ooh, I wanted there to be a second season of Hotel del Luna SO bad! I don’t want to say too much for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but the way they teased a follow up was amazing. Too bad it never seemed to materialize. 😭

Hi, hello! I'm the fool that started down the EMPRESS KI path. Oh my lord: It's like I've been transported back to the ABC Daytime of my Youth.

Half way through Rain or Shine (AKA Just Between Lovers)- guys, it is not the most uplifting drama, but the Lee Jun-ho is really good as our tormented/troubled hero. I have only seen him in Wok of Love and he didn't do much for me, but this one he is a bad boy with a heart of gold. Finishing up Hometown Cha Cha Cha, started Attorney Woo; finished (and LOVED) Hotel de Luna - is there really a season 2?- Right now I'm missing all that mythology and folklore from Hotel de Luna, so I may need to do some re-watching of Goblin and Korean Odyssey. And then maybe get my LMH fix with Legend of the Blue Sea and The King... and there I go - right down the rabbit hole again.

I am so happy that you loved Itaewon Class! It's definitely one of my favorites.

I’m watching extraordinary attorney woo, alchemy of souls and tomorrow. I’m wrapping up work about to go on a 2 month sabbatical so actually paused watching for a while to get things done . Tomorrow was a great podcast recommendation bc you don’t feel the need to binge like many shows but enjoyable to add when you just want something in an evening. But wow episode on Korean vet was so well done.

I am catching up on Alchemy of Souls

I too have not gone back to Money Heist, after 2 episodes. I thought I would be totally sucked in, but apparently not.

I’ve never had so many dramas on the go before but I had serious FOMO so had to keep adding more. Happiness - nearly there! Been watching this forever! Jinxed at First - dull, I wish I’d dropped it sooner. I’m now 2 episodes from the end and feel committed to find out the ending. But a sad waste of a good cast Cafe Minamdang - I’m really enjoying, they did a great take on the catwalk Goblin scene and I loved it. Then I started Extraordinary Attorney Woo cos I had bad FOMO. I’m enjoying it a lot. We have autism & neurodiversity in the family so I’ve been tweeting my views of how they’re handing the autism in this drama - there are good and bad things! (I’m @kdramathis) I am enjoying the romance a lot but do feel that they’ve made the hero a bit of a vessel - he’s just a really nice guy. So far, no backstory or anything we know about him other than he’s popular and nice. Oh and likes Young Woo. I have Money Heist on hold. Not sure I like it enough to go back to it. I want to start todays Webtoon cos of Kim Sejeong and COUSIN HYUN 😍😍

I agree about the JCW drama trailer. I have my fingers crossed that it will have something closer to the Healer vibe that mixed lots of moods throughout. 🤞

I’m watching Attorney Woo and then started Stove League, another drama with Park Eun Bin, who’s wonderful in a very different kind of role. It had been on my list for a while, but when I realized that she’s in it, I jumped at it and will finish it today. I’m still watching Alchemy and Cafe Minamdang, still not loving either for various reasons, but I will stick with them. Watched one episode of Today’s Webtoon. It looks okay to me. I hope that The Good Detective 2 shows up on something that I watch. And I’m crossing my fingers for Ji Chang Wook’s new drama when it starts (BTW, the trailers confuse me—mostly dark and melodramatic, but I’ve seen one that looks like comedy between the ML and FL). I am loving In The Soop: Friendcation for no good reason, because it’s just 5 adorable guys not doing much of anything. Sleeping! Eating! Matching pj’s! The BTS vlogs are fun, too, and tonight I will watch J-Hope at Lollapalooza (on Hulu).

I am rewatching Love Mechanics on repeat. I love this show so much. This weekend I am thinking about diving into Tomorrow now that I am caught up on my 7 weeklies. 😳
