HAPPY BIRTHDAY GONG YOO/공유!

My cosmic birthday sandwich is now complete: Lee Min-ho (June 22); Amy (July 1); Gong Yoo (July 10).

Show some Gong Yoo love by sharing your favorite Gong Yoo drama or film. For me it will always be the sad love of Goblin. Kim Shin is it for me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GONG YOO/공유!

Is it just me (amy), or does anyone else want this image of Kim Shin tattooed on the back of their eyelids?

Megan Erickson

LOLOL, Becky. I wanted to love Silent Sea so badly, but they did my Kim Shin dirty with the flat writing of his character. Luna gets all my praise for that drama.

Megan Erickson

The first kiss in the cafe is great, but that kiss against his apartment door after he finally lets her in is EVERYTHING.

Megan Erickson

Goblin and Reaper are the best bromance to ever bromance, only rivaled by the trifecta bromance in Mr. Sunshine. But since they are all written by Kim Eun-sook, I think it's okay say these are my top bromances. ;)

Megan Erickson

I wholeheartedly agree. Gong Yoo in a suit is devastatingly delicious.

Megan Erickson

Good lord, YES.

Megan Erickson

No one chose Silent Sea?!?!?! I am shocked. Shocked, I tell you. 🫢😬🤯😉

Becky

Coffee Prince, one of the best hook up scenes for a kdrama. And I might add, he appears to know how to kiss. No barely touch, non movement for him! 😬

Daisy

Goblin bromance forever.

Now I want to rewatch Big!

Big is the Gong Yoo drama I enjoyed the most. When he discovers and admires his own body? I am dead. Died. Gone. Forever. Never coming back. He’s just so good at the acting in this. I believed that he was someone else who landed in this fantastic body and is conflicted about the situation but is super into how that body looks. It’s AMAZING.

Becky

Coffee Prince forever! Swoon. I also can't get over how good he looks in suits (Train to Busan and Squid Game). Hope Squid Game 2 gives him a bigger role, the people want it!

Jina

Kim Shin forever ❤️. Second place is the just-out-of-the-shower-manspreading-while-toweling-off scene in episode 1 of Coffee Prince. 😍

That's right! My bday is Canada Day! I really need to make it up there someday to celebrate with the whole country that shares my day. :) And agree that Seo Bok was interesting, but it didn't give him a lot to work with as a character. I adored him in Coffee Prince too, but nothing has topped Goblin yet.

Megan Erickson

Totally agree - he is so good in Big. And he looks amazing in it. I definitely wish it were a better drama, overall, but his and Lee Min-jung's performances are great.

Grace

While Big was a bit of a train wreck watching Gong Yoo in that was amazing. The talent!!

Happy Canada Day birthday, Amy! As you mentioned on the latest podcast, that was also Princess Diana's birthday. On her and Charles' honeymoon tour of Canada, they attended the opening day of the Universiade Games in my hometown (university athletes from Commonwealth nations). As the British team marched past the stands, they lifted their caps in salute; somehow the letters spelling out Happy Birthday, Di were attached and displayed to the crowd. Considered quite cheeky by the older Brit team members. But back to Gong Yoo......my vote also for Goblin. I saw him in A Man and a Woman; some intense scenes for sure but the rest of the movie not exactly uplifting. Seo Bok was interesting. In Train to Busan he was fantastic. I would like to see him in Kim Ji Young:Born 1982 but I can't find it yet. Goblin best for the humour and the bromance AND the pathos. And I do love those shirtless pix of him on IG...
