2022-06-25 15:24:08 +0000 UTCI don’t have much to add to the great comments here, except I don’t share some of the views about liking Vegas. I realize he’s got a lot of issues, I mean, a LOT of issues, but to me he’s just a psychopath. The scenes of brutality against Pet were a bit much for me, and I just ff’ed through them. One character that I can’t figure out is Kim, the 3rd brother. Is he totally hate-filled and bent on revenge over stuff that in the past, or something else? We saw him target Chay but maybe have guilty feelings, so he’s less transparent to me than most of the other characters. I too hope they nail the landing at the end, but I don’t really know what that will mean!

Vegas knows he's messed up, and Pete does too. I don't feel like the show is trying to make me think what Vegas is doing is sexy. I think we're seeing him actively working through a mental crisis, unfortunately for Pete. I'm super curious where they take this couple. (Megan)

2022-06-22 01:08:00 +0000 UTCI've read a lot of mafia romances, which makes me feel like this writer ALSO read a lot of mafia romances and ticked off all the popular tropes. It's written a little like fanfic, and I'm not mad at it. I think it's acknowledging it's problematic. I don't think it's trying to pass anything off as being okay. It's sort of an off the rails mafia romance. But it also feels smart and self-aware at times. The production value is crazy. The cinematography is pretty damn good, and the chemistry between all the characters is off the charts. I can't get enough of it! (Megan)

I think that is coming and I am here for it. But please don't represent BDSM as only coming from a place of past trauma.

2022-06-21 14:27:05 +0000 UTCThis was supposed to be posted before my other post, but Patreon doesn't like it when I talk too much :) Trying again at posting this: I have a lot more to say and while I think it would be easier audibly, I'm gonna give it a try in writing. Two caveats: 1) I miss big problems sometimes when I'm in love with characters 2) this drama isn't over so we don't know yet if they're gonna stick the landing here. Lord knows, few dramas do. Regarding being problematic: What I'm absolutely loving about this show is that these characters seem to be self-aware or at least are actively realizing that they are problematic. We are literally watching them work that out. The mafia men have been steeped in a world of power and are desperately aching to be seen and loved. They are currently executing that in fits and starts, or straight up badly (ahem, looking at you Vegas). I also love that the men being positioned as weaker in power (Porshe, Chay, Pete) are also being positioned as having a stronger clearer sense of themselves and their character. They are also trying to work out what they will accept and why in service to being seen and loved. Also not always executing that well. Plus at least with Porsche, he's also being positioned as the protector. Such a great play with the power dynamics.

I'm enjoying watching them move between tender, playful flirty love to aggressive hungry, needy desire. I'm not sure I can explain this well yet because I'm still sorting it out, but it's nice to see this without the framework of misogyny in the mix. Also another caveat: can this kind of flipflopping and apologies for mistakes be manipulation and abuse - for sure. Is it in this show? We are yet to find out, but so far I don't feel like it is (except ahem, Vegas. Dude - work your sh*t out please.) Dear writers ---> please nail this landing. I'm begging you. And if you don't, I'm just submitting my petition to the universe now (ahem, Leah or Megan) to please rewrite the ending for us.

I want to spend a week watching Bad and Crazy with him. Chay and Kim are going to get back together right? I love that Kinn and Porsche are always protecting each other. Porsche asking his brother if he could protect him and Kinn at the same time was the sweetest.

"Solved" with an apology. Torturing Pete? Hate it, but....I'm also somehow ok with it. Maybe Pete is kinda ok with it too???? Love Vegas? Absolutely. Love Vegas's dad? More flouncy neckerchiefs on mean, second-tier mafia dads, please. Tawan -- please go away forever. Tankhun spinoff? Immediately. Little brother Kim -- he's too young for me to comment, but I have uncommented comments FOR SURE. Could I watch Kinn and Porsche look at each other and say each other's names for 12 hours straight??? I'm not saying if I have or have not tested my capacity for this. Is this show problematic? Um...I guess. Yes. But the context of mafia families is a pretty problematic space so I'm just rolling with it all.

Tankhun is pretty astute for a recovering-from-kidnapping-by- watching-dramas kinda guy, as he participated in some of the meetings with the dad. But did he wonder if the concocted Pete-at-his-grandma's-house story was real???? So many plot holes.......but handsome men for sure.
