IT'S FRIDAYYYY: What are you watching?
Added 2022-06-10 17:30:33 +0000 UTCMegan: Tomorrow, Kinn/Porshe, and probably starting Insider
Amy: Tomorrow
Lia: Whatever she downloaded on her flight to Australia, haha. (I think she's watching Our Blues, Insider, and Prison Playbook)
Also, the next Deep Dive we are doing in a few weeks is on Prison Playbook. So if you haven't seen it yet and want to move it up on your list, now's the time! So far Megan watched it and LOVED it.

Is Kiss Sixth Sense on Disney+ right now in North America? Any other kdramas beside Snowdrop?

2022-06-13 15:44:02 +0000 UTCWow, here i was thinking i would find it hard to commit to the length of Empress Ki and you've done it twice!! What do you love about it, so I can see if other than JCW what would be the sell? I am a Historical Drama fan generally...

2022-06-13 13:04:44 +0000 UTCDo You Like Brahms was wonderful. I watched it as it was airing and was re-watching episodes waiting for the new ones which I don't usually do.

2022-06-13 12:27:27 +0000 UTCJust started Kiss Sixth Sense, and getting caught up with From Now On Showtime(not groundbreaking, but enjoyable!) and Sh**ting Stars (so cute!!)

2022-06-13 03:27:52 +0000 UTCThe goofy Showtime has ended. It was imperfect, very sweet, and had a big heart. Turned out to be the perfect kdrama for me right now, and for that it gets a 9/10. (In reality it probably deserves a 7 or 8/10.) My sister and I start Eve tomorrow; otherwise I am rewatching Eternal Monarch veeeeery slowly, and casting about for something else to watch.

2022-06-12 21:32:17 +0000 UTCIf you love a good rom com, Shitting/Shooting Stars (whatever!) is PERFECTION. Trust me. It is charm personified and the writer/director understands the assignment. Loooovvvving it!

2022-06-11 21:29:56 +0000 UTCMad for each Other was great. I did like the shorter episodes but the leads had such great chemistry.

2022-06-11 11:15:05 +0000 UTCLove in the Moonlight - curious to see Park Bo Gum in a period piece Empress Ki - rewatch for the 2nd time! I was averaging 4 episodes per day 😂 Again My Life - husband likes it but I’m struggling with this one

2022-06-11 03:36:45 +0000 UTCJust finished My Shy Boss, which I liked more than I expected given the beginning. Also finished Strong Woman Do Bong Soon this week, which was just delightful. Especially the hilariously long amount of time devoted to a scene in which the ML is frustrated and compelled to do a fitness circuit in his chaebol living room to calm down. Very cute. Not sure what is next. I'm scrolling through these comments for ideas, but my guy is finally over covid so this weekend I'm spending with him to, um, deal with my own frustration ;) Haven't seen him in two weeks!

2022-06-11 03:20:51 +0000 UTCI also thought the first two episodes of Liberation Notes were slow and I nodded off once or twice. I read somewhere that the pace was deliberately slow to give you a feel for their lives – the long commute, the frustrating and unfulfilling jobs, etc. I felt like it perked up after Mi Jong made her request of Mr. Gu and especially by the end of episode 4.

2022-06-11 03:17:21 +0000 UTCLia here! I did indeed watch Insider (Kang Ha Neul is amazing and it’s very violent. I comp it to My Name). And Our Blues which might well be in my top ten dramas by the end. A surprise huge win for me!! And KinnPorsche and all the BTS comeback content 😅

2022-06-11 00:36:28 +0000 UTCMy “weekly kdrama night” friend has been away so Goblin has been on hold for two weeks… the self discipline to not binge it by myself has been excruciating! I’ve filled the gap with Sh**ting Stars and am LOVING Mad For Each Other on Netflix. It’s episodes are short but well done and it mixes comedy with poignant and serious mental health issues.

2022-06-10 23:57:49 +0000 UTCI love how quickly everyone jumps on this Friday thread! I’m still watching Woori the Virgin, started Angels Last Mission:love and I like it. Also started Liberation Notes and have fallen asleep very quickly on the 1st 2 ep. Does the pace ever pick up? Also, found and watched the 1st ep of a reality show called Change Days and I think it’s gonnna be really gooood🤣

2022-06-10 23:19:53 +0000 UTCI’m re-watching Reply 1988 because I’ll be writing a short review of this drama for an online forum (like Reddit but with a much smaller community). Not many of the members venture into the Kdrama corner of the site, but if they do, I want to sell them on the show and jumpstart a discussion in 250 words or less. 🤣 I started watching Do You Like Brahms? and I’m about halfway through. I like the story but whenever a song is played from the OST the volume is so loud that I have trouble hearing the dialogue – I guess it’s okay since I rely on subtitles, but still, I like to hear the voice of the actors. It’s a minor criticism and won’t keep me from finishing the show. A few episodes in I looked up the cast on MDL and was surprised to see the male lead (Kim Min Jae) also played the King of Goryeo in Goblin. Of course, then I needed to start a re-watch of Goblin! 😍

2022-06-10 23:00:28 +0000 UTCStill not getting enough Kdrama watching time. I’m in serious envy of you guys who are watching so many live airing shows AND older ones 😳 I finished and LOVED Do you Like Brahms? - such an underrated show. As I said already last time I’ve never seen two such introverted leads handled so well. They barely have dialogue but they let you inside and you end up falling in love with them falling in love with each other, really enjoyable. Am catching up on From Now On, Showtime so hope to finish that soon and still slowly daytime watching Happiness.
