Time for the weekend round up. What shows are capturing your eyeballs.

I’m halfway through My Mister and I’ve gone from liking to not liking to now back to liking! And I’m way into KinnPorsche and ready for more more more!

Mr. Sunshine didn’t get compelling for me until around episode 7, if I recall. Slow start. Then I loved it.

Becky

I’m still watching Vincenzo- taking me awhile due to repeated rewatch sessions of KinnPorsche.

Yes! A highlight of k-dramas watching is becoming an expert in an extremely specialized topic. The only reason I thought Business Proposal was too short is because I wanted to learn more about product development Ina frozen food conglomerate

I’m on the fence about Woori the Virgin. I have no doubt they’ll do a good job (I have a soft spot for Sung Hoon from Oh My Venus). But I am not sure about the remake aspect. I didn’t love the Korean version of Suits - not because it wasn’t done well, but because it felt too American to me. I like Korean dramas because they are different from what I’m exposed to in North America. But I’ll be curious to learn more about it.

Hang in there with My Mister. It is one of my top 5 dramas so so good in so many ways!!! This weekend just finished the sound of magic, hmmmm just enjoyed the musicality of this strange drama and JCW. Still plugging away at Mr Sunshine, when does it get really good??? Almost done with Youth of May which is just ok… Obviously looking for something really great. Thinking I’ll start Woori the Virgin, there is something about Sung Hoon that I love and enjoy watching him

Deb

I loved DATCP. I think it’s one of the few intimate scenes in kdrama that was actually realistic.

We’ve been away a lot so haven’t had a lot of KDrama time, sadly! But I finally finished The Crowned Clown, which thankfully landed it’s ending and was excellent. I know historicals with lots of court intrigue aren’t a lot of peoples jam but if it’s yours this I really highly recommend. I’m still loving From Now On, Showtime, I’m enjoying the very Kdrama mix of ghosts, police procedural with help of ghosts and RomCom and an arrogant ML slowly falling for a FL… who has been in love with her Oppa/Sunbae for a long time. I have just started Happiness and Park Hyung Shik just makes me happy and am enjoying how the action is unfolding so far. And also Looney from Prison Playbook - love ❤️

Hometown ChaChaCha if you haven’t seen yet is summer time RomCom genius.

It's on my watch list!!! Would love to hear from anyone that's watched it.

Has anyone watched Green Mother’s Club? Thoughts? -Lia

I have a long list bc I’ve been off work all week since the person I take care of got COVID😷 Im all caught up on Shooting Stars. The cast of Shooting Stars is actually really big and there is not one character I dislike. They are all so charming in their own ways, and the side characters all feel like real people who have their own lives separate from whats going in the main arc. Im also watching Woori the Virgin and it definitely has the feel of a kdrama while also still giving the same vibes as JTV. There was also a fun callout to JTV in one of the recent episodes. The ML & FL of Woori the Virgin were in drama together about 10 years ago named New Tales of Gisaeng so Ive been checking that one out too (with lots of fast forwarding bc its 52 episodes.) Its very classic kdrama, but I do think its an interesting premise and they are an interesting pair to watch together. Last one is Love All Play. Im up to ep 6. So not what I expected. I think with the poster and probably the fact that it was going on Disney+ I thought it was more of a teenage/young college drama, but no, they are in their mid to late twenties. And the main couple are soooooo cute together. And now I know alot more about Badminton than I was ever interested in before 🏸

I am totally into Shooting Stars, despite a couple of problematic aspects of the first couple of episodes. I love the FL and the ML; I feel like the ML does a great job of making his petulant character likeable. I keep going back to re-watch previous episodes while waiting for the new ones. I’ve also been re-watching Dali and the Cocky Prince (I think the afternoonas would really enjoy it and do a great podcast episode about it!). I had started Tomorrow and I like it enough when watching it but I’m not hooked.

I finished Sound of Magic last night…still processing it in my mind to figure out what I think. Also finished Master of My Own. I’m in the middle of a whole bunch of currently airing shows that I spread my ear the week (Again My Life, Blues, SStars, etc.), to which I added a couple more this week: Dine with Love, and Love in Flames of War. I seem to be watching more Cdramas at the moment. I’m surprised that Tomorrow will finish this week—there is a lot to wrap up in just 2 episodes.

Claudia Copeland

I am watching Liberation Notes, really good. Also Tomorrow. They are both very emotional, I think I would have chosen to watch one at a time instead of together. Also trying to finish Goblin. I need a light comedy after these!! Any recs?

Daisy

Trying to finish up Pinocchio right now. Like it but not loving it yet. Hoping to start Tomorrow next week though 😀
