Business Proposal: Spoiler Thread
Added 2022-03-03 18:10:36 +0000 UTCI NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS. Who's watching? I finished Mr. Sunshine with a broken heart and knew I needed something that was good silly fun. Enter Business Proposal, which feels like the perfect antidote to Mr. Sunshine (which I loved, it was just a lot). Anyway, I'm always kind of down for over the top and ridiculous, and this really fits the bill. The male lead is playing the Park Seo Joon-like character from Secretary Kim to perfection, and the female lead is smart, plucky, and honestly kind of unlucky, haha.
Devastated I can't binge this, and I'm tempted to like show up at Netflix's headquarters demanding they release all the episodes now. So who's watching? What do you think? Are you Team Samantha or Team Rachel?

I am late to the party, but totally loving this show too! Also agree that the second couple is stealing the show with their heat. Whew! Anyone else surprised that they used a real company as the setting of this show? Has that ever happened before? Bibigo must have basically financed this whole show, since their name and products are all over it. So funny going to H-mart today after having binged the episodes that were out over the past two nights, bc all the Bibigo products kept jumping out at me. Was trying to scope out whether the packaging modeled after traditional Korean fermentation jars actually exists, but I didn't see them. Maybe they will come out soon, after the show is done airing?

My degree is in business, and this might be where my worlds collide 😄

Plus I just watched the male lead in Lovers of the Red Sky where he was smoking! So count me in! I'd love to talk about this one as it goes on.

I may just wait until all the episodes come out and binge? Idk? I hate waiting!!! Esp bc I am also waiting every week to watch 39 and 25 21. 😂

2022-03-04 03:23:37 +0000 UTCThis show is EXACTLY what I need to be watching right now. It’s frothy, and tongue in cheek, light and bright and funny. I really wish all the episodes had dropped at once because I’d snarf them up like a box of Thin Mints. If the series continues like the first two episodes it will be in my Top 10 Kdramas for sure. The publicity poster you’ve included with this post really drives home how its DNA is firmly rooted in all those 1940s romantic comedies Hollywood churned out with tart-tongued dames leading their stolid men around by their…ties. Both couples are working for me, though I can see the second leads stealing the show. Not sure about romantic chemistry for either pairing, but can’t wait to see the 🎆 (hopefully!) when things start to heat up. And, oh my, Ahn Hyo Seop in those suits! The second one he wears, the double breasted one, looks like an Edwardian frock coat, it’s so gorgeous. Definitely approve of dapper MLs. Re. comments about WWWSK - what’s wrong with that show? It’s kinda goofy, and the childhood connection was out there, but is there something else people don’t like that I don’t know about?

2022-03-03 21:02:25 +0000 UTCI almost didn’t watch because it looked like What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, both in the casting of the ML and in the trope of the Chaebol falling for a regular gal (albeit gorgeous behind her glasses), but I needed a break from 39, which is so darn sad. So, I watched the first 2 episodes of Business Proposal and I’m glad I did – lots of LOL moments and the Team Samantha vs Team Rachel joke was both unexpected and funny. I’m still worried the ML will be a narcissist and that the FL will need to compromise the most in order to accommodate him, but so far the meta references suggest they may have learned a few lessons from WWWSK and other dramas. Plus, I was so pleased to see Kim Min Gue – I loved him and his dimples in Because this is my First Life! I know it’s still early, but it’s pretty clear he’s going to get an HEA in BP.
