Afternoona Delight Pachinko Book Club: Register Interest

The series will debut on March 25 and is adapted from the NYT bestseller of the same name by Min Jin Lee. Anyone who regularly listens to the pod knows that I. AM. EXCITED. FOR. THIS. SERIES.
Apple will release the first three episodes together, with the remainder of the eight-episode season airing weekly through 29 April. The series stars Lee Min-ho in a leading (big baddy) role. Let's all take a moment to acknowledge that he looks real real real good in a white suit (or a white military uniform if you've watched King: The Eternal Monarch).
All this being said... this is one of my all-time favorite books and I HIGHLY recommend folks read it before watching show. I'm looking to convene a book club here on Patreon for anyone interested. I'm thinking we can do a weekly post covering a segment of chapters and people can discuss in the comments. We'd start the week of February 7th, exact posting day TBD.
Let us know if you're interested in the comments! If this works, we could look to do an ongoing online book club which might be really fun!

I had not watched any of the historical kdramas at that point, like Mr Sunshine, so was unaware of most of the history of the late 1800s- early 1900s in Korea.

2022-01-27 19:51:33 +0000 UTCI've been hesitant to read this (my grandmother had me read a lot of family sagas which were good but by the third one, it's a lot) and I'm hesitant about book clubs (the only one I'm in meets once a year and we all read different books) but I would give this a go!
