Loved the FLs who stood up to their overbearing parent on the subject of marriage...One Spring Night and Something in the Rain. As well, a FL, like in Her Private Life, who embraced her quirkiness/special hobby.

LauraPat H

Agree! Rain or Shine was a great example too of this sort of FL.

Elizabeth-Claire

I like a quieter lead; she may seem meek and small, but when challenges come her way, she has a steel backbone. Examples... Where the Camilla Blooms, and Do You Like Brahms?

Jodi Guira

Definitely in One Spring Night - FL's dad is the pits and she stands up to him. And you get Jung Hae In. Win Win Win - love this drama!

Just Between Lovers/Rain or Shine I think the FL has a nice balance of respectfulness to what her mom was going through, but also not giving in when it was important to her.

Jules

I like a heroine who stands up for herself against family pressure….Oh, wait. I can’t think of one. 😕 Help!

Claudia Copeland

Have you watched Be Melodramatic/Melo is my nature? I feel as if you just described the plot lol

Ha! Misplaced confidence is so fun!

Dance like no one is watching! (Except Healer is always watching)

❤️❤️❤️❤️ and now you are an elected official and channeling all the Goo Se-Ra energy!!

I love a heroine who just lets fly with how she feels, how pissed off she is or how unfair a situation is, even to total strangers. Like Choi Ae-Ra in Fight for my Way or Ji Ah in I am not a Robot. I love that being unafraid to stand up for yourself quality. And I won't lie, it's totally related to the fact that I too, have spent my whole life wanting to do that but being told that Chinese girls don't do that in public and to practise being more demure and quiet.

Sarah @afternoonaasks

Has strong friendship group, challenges authority and is passionate about their work/job/hobby

Kate

I think when they embrace and celebrate their own quirkiness. What comes to mind is the FL in Healer, when she's dancing around the coffee shop with her dad.

Elizabeth

Misplaced confidence. Thinking you can hike your way out of North Korea without a map or become a real estate mogul when your only professional experience is as a kpop idol (our Beloved Summer). Helps that it's a perfect catalyst for shenanigans.
