Next Update Progress Report

Awoo mates!

I haven't posted anything on Patreon since the last update 6th of May, so I thought I'd let you know my current status in this post.

I'm still in the USA and May was extremely eventful for me, to a degree I should have anticipated but I'm still surprised how severely it delayed my work on the new content. A lot of that will be helpful for Shelter in the future, while some were just lost time due to traveling and falling sick.

To summarize, I was staying with my friend in San Jose California through April and half-a-May when I made the update v32. That was all great!

Then, in the middle of May we traveled to Atlanta where we attended Furry Weekend Atlanta, my first American furcon ever, where I was blessed to meet some of you guys, and I made some connections with people working on merch and stuff. That was extremely fun and will surely bear fruits in the future.

After FWA, one of my good American friends took me to Memphis Tennessee where I spent five days with him. Unfortunately, I contracted something that I learned people call "the con plague", so I stayed in bed half of that time and heavily medicated myself in the last couple of days of that visit so I wouldn't be stopped at the airport for having fever or anything. I hope to see him again one day, in less hectic circumstances.

After Memphis, I flew to another one of my very good online friends, this time to Bismarck in North Dakota where I am right now and I'll be staying here for a couple of months. There's absolutely nothing here, so it's a perfect place to focus on work without distractions lol.

But I had to take care of two important things through the first days here. I made contact with one of the adult toys maker and we discussed a possibility of a collab. I made those polls on Twitter and eventually settled down on doing Alon first, so I designed and drew schematics for that dangerous lightish red dildo. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out <3

Also, since I'm in America and electronics are cheap here, I took roughly two days researching and looking for the best mini PC with the best balance of powerful specs and portability for traveling. I have it now and I'm super duper happy with it. I'm pretty sure it's good enough for me to finally start playing with 3d modeling in my free time! It also has built-in Bluetooth/wifi, so that gets rid of a bunch of cables and plugs for me, and lets me do stuff like using that PC remotely through my laptop, which makes me super happy. I got a super tiny portable midi controller for music composing along with a nice protective case for that, the keyboard, and the mouse. I'm very pleased with that upgrade!

But yeah, unfortunately, a lot of time in May was spent not working on Shelter, and I'm sorry for the delay. I'm going to release an update as soon as I can, but it's still going to take a while and it'll be smaller than usual. I hope to be able to get back to my usual groove in Bismarck, with no distractions for a while.

Some things I already have prepared are:

• a few new Mysterious Figures with extra unlockable Bio info
• the extra Bio info includes summaries of tragic barkstories, as well as short epilogue-like scenes written in 3rd person past tense. It's some of that type of content that I initially wanted to be included in the game, but I decided to cut it out to improve the pacing. I hope you'll find those fun. To read those, you'll need to find relevant Mysterious Figure and finish the relevant dog's story content (so right now only Burry and Rune would have those unlockable)
• an alternative version of Cooper's rescue mission for those who already used up the Rodent potion in Baxter's rescue in the same playthrough. So it gets really nasty there…

I think the last important bit I still have to add is writing the scene of Acri meeting Luke for the first time. Like, remember in Baxter's and Thistle's rescue missions, where you saw extra scenes of Burry and Rune meeting Luke for the first time? In Cooper's rescue mission, there was supposed to be one like that for Acri, at the time Luke loses consciousness after falling off the cliff with the sled dogs and Cooper, right before the scene of Cooper's death.

I'll probably also add more unlockable info to the Bio, like the Mana affinity chart and stuff. We'll see.

Once I have that, I'll put it all together and release it as a new update. With that content in the game, I'll be ready to properly move on with Max's and Acri's story.
