This is not a chapter post.

Hello everyone!

First, I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for all of the support. I deeply appreciate it. It makes me very happy to know that so many people are enjoying The Machine God.

There is a TL;DR at the bottom :) Bit of author rambling and context before I get to it.

I started writing TMG at the beginning of July, having come up with the concept a few days earlier. Truthfully, I only started because I subluxed (partially dislocated) my knee, which kept me at home and with little to do. Otherwise, the single notepad file that started this whole thing would have been deleted some months later like all the other random story ideas I come up with.

In case any of you reading this have a similar pattern of inspiration followed by throwing it out... consider giving it a try. And if it's a story you're going to launch on Royal Road? Let me know.

The reason for this post is something else though. I'm sure many of you know I started with only 17 advanced chapters on Patreon, and have since caught it up to the promised 25.

After I did that... I found myself with free time again. Which was weird after several months of intense writing and editing filling most of my (non-work) hours. I write about 3k+ words a day on a good day, and with chapters being roughly 2.1k words per chapter (according to Royal Road), I'm planning to increase the advanced chapter count over time. I think I'll settle on 50. Eventually. I'll also be posting the first side story this week (focused on Star Titan).

But, because I had extra time, I... may have... accidentally... started a second project... instead of taking a break.

I am considering posting the first five chapters of my new story here, this week, to see what people think. And hopefully get some feedback. But, I recognize that this page is for TMG, and I respect that people may not want to have to deal with navigating multiple stories and their chapters.

Hence this post. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Would you be interested in a sneak peak at a new story? Also. I know a lot of people don't want to comment (You are my spirit animals, seriously. I felt like an ass asking for comments and ratings on Royal Road, because I realized I had never rated/commented on even my most favorite RR stories...). So, if you're interested but don't want to comment, feel free to just slap a like/heart or whatever it is to show support.

It's a Xianxia progression fantasy about the last dragon trying to survive in a world where his species was hunted to extinction. He has a humanoid (but absolutely not human) form, broken inherited memories from multiple sources, and has to adapt human cultivation techniques to work with his unique form.

If there's interest, I'll post chapters here. If only a few people are interested, I'll find an alternative way to share it so the TMG page stays focused.
