New Channel Specifically for TV Shows and Movies
Added 2025-03-19 07:15:14 +0000 UTCIn the coming days I'll be moving all of my movie and tv show reactions to a dedicated channel. The main channel as much as I try to get away from American Reacts content, it just doesn't really work as anything else. I've currently got to episode 6 of Vikings season 2 recorded and Ted Lasso Episode 7 of season 2 recorded. I'll be recording for season 2 of Mr Inbetween this week. If subbed and joined in here for Mr Inbetween, more than likely I'll replace Lasso with Mr Inbetween on the new channel after Lasso is over with. I'll put all of what I record here and it'll be here probably 2 full seasons before it sees the light of youtube. I'm trying to consolidate as much as possible so like content goes with like content. What's already on the main channel will stay there but new episodes will be put on the new channel.
I've only made this decision after looking at how videos perform on the main channel. The first episode of each show performs moderately well and then steadily either declines in views or loses subs. Trying to grow a channel from scratch using content dedicated to 1 thing normally goes better than sticking them on a channel that's been set in stone algorithm wise with a clear pattern of content. My anime reaction channel kind of proved that theory out. That channel, with only anime content grew from 45 subs to 111 subs in the span of 3 weeks having nothing but anime reactions on it. Made sense. None of it would've gained the necessary traction needed if I had put it on the main channel. I've gained subs from the shows but the traction isn't there and the tale in that is told in not only the limited reach on the channel itself since it's set up historically to look at UK content being born out in the views across each week but also the sub counts from one video to the next.

The problem with Google Drive is the limited space, even at 20 a month, it's 1tb, which I would have long already filled, and if you happen to have a down month, or months like I've had in the past and had things lapse, you lose access to stuff. It's the reason I put stuff on Patreon. That being said I am looking at something similar to what Taffe does using a site that you can upload files to and then have a shareable link because as it stands, most of my Derry Girls and Fawlty Towers links are no longer any good since I had to clear much of the original content that I had available via Google Drive links. The other issue with drive is, if you have more than 10 or 15 people trying to access a file, it will eventually deny folks, I had that issue when I had memberships instead of Patreon for the channel.

2025-03-20 06:59:03 +0000 UTCIt might decline because you put all your videos directly on Patreon, instead of putting a link to google drive or another site. When you do that, it doesn’t stream well on tv, I always have to watch on my tablet cause on the tv it just keeps buffering or completely shutting off, it’s very annoying. I know other reactors who put in links because this kept happening. Also the lack of a schedule can put people off, as they could wait ages for the next episode. Also a lot of your tv reactions are missing lots of episodes, so it makes it pretty pointless to watch. Hope this helps.
