We did it!

Pino and its crew arrived safely in New Zealand on October 31st! The trip took us about 10 days, averaging a speed of 6-9kts (our boat typically runs at 5-6kts). We arrived here crazy fast, which is just as well, the winds were getting stronger by the day. It was a very salty passage, we got waves coming into the cockpit often. We also discovered leaks in both of our hatches, we awoke one night to a waterfall coming down onto our sleeping area. Yep, our bed was soaked with sea water, we slept in a damp bed for last 4 days.

Upon arrival, Pino traveled upriver into Whangarei (this is where we will be spending the next months). Whangarei is a great place to do boat work, not to mention the city is really convenient and the groceries are -so far- amazingly plentiful.

Yesterday, we purchased some items we've been missing dearly, like nutritional yeast, miso, mirin, soba... (yes, mostly Japanese foods). We will be very comfortable here. Once we are settled in, we will continue working on Markl, Devine will be advancing work on Nataniev & Rotonde while I, continue to write Wiktopher. It will be a year of projects! We have full internet now, and so, you will get more updates from us!

Thank you for believing in our project, we still can't believe we've traveled this far from home! Our time in the south pacific was made less stressful because of the support of our patrons, and for this, we are crazy grateful.
