great episode! i would recommend *not* watching the 60th anniversary specials (coming out in november) until you've finished series 4 though! :)

Another great episode, not bad having the Oscar nominated Pauline Collins playing Queen Vic, with this episode and the next eight in line it shows why the series became so huge, I am particularly looking forward to the next two for differing reasons the first is heartwarming, the second quite heartbreaking, tissues may be required or mabe thats just me being an emotional wreck. Also do not forget you have the three Jody Whittiker series following Peter Capaldi, thanks again.

Very fun episode. Certainly one of the first legitimately thrilling episodes of Nu Who, great music too. Love what you said about the CGI, and I’ll add to that, it’s also what they actually do with the CGI, if the movements of whatever they’re rendering in CGI look believable regardless of its quality. As for the show Torchwood which you’ve heard of, won’t say much about it but if you can squeeze it in soon, the last episode of its first series ties into the opening of the Series 3 finale of Doctor Who. That might help you out with reacting in terms of show continuity.

No you’re bang on, mate, especially about him naming himself after the PSB singer.

It's funny you commented on the computer graphics because I remember with this episode the the team that did the werewolf graphics were either headhunted to do the werewolf scenes in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban or vice versa. My mummy brain can't remember which as I've been bombarded with Dr Who facts since new Who started because my eldest son became obsessed. He's now 21 and still goes back to Eccleston and Tennant for nostalgia.😊

Fun fact but It was also funny to hear David Tennant’s real Scottish accent being used when he was imitating a Scot for the 1st part of the story! When he was cast in the role, the showrunner, Russell T Davies asked Tennant if he would use an English accent when playing the Doctor. I think it was something to do with Davies not wanting another ‘accent’ after Christopher Eccleston’s northern Lancastrian accent was heard in the series! Another fun fact is that ‘Tennant’ is not David’s real surname. It is in fact ‘MacDonald!’ I’m not 100% sure but I believe he couldn’t use his real surname as there was already an actor called David MacDonald! I think he chose Tennant as a stage name from Neil Tennant, lead singer of the pop group, the Pet Shop Boys, but I could be totally wide of the mark here! Lol!

The Doctor calling himself ‘James Robert McCrimmon’ was such a sweet thing, because that was the name of one of his companions. Jamie was with the 2nd Doctor and is one of the longest serving companions in the history of the show. Hopefully we’ll see a reaction to the 2nd Doctor era soon, just for that dynamic. Also, the actress who plays Queen Victoria, Pauline Collins, she also appeared in the 2nd Doctor’s era, playing a character called Samantha Briggs in a story called ‘The Faceless Ones’ and was very nearly a companion but she turned the offer down.
