Considering the show has always been aired early evenings here you do get some scary stories along the way, in the box set you should have the 50th anniversary episodes which brings back some of the earlier doctors

When we get David Tennant coming into this show as the doctor it literally becomes, (and I’m NOT exaggerating) the great sci-fi based entertainment vehicle that the UK has ever produced. You honestly have no idea what you’re getting into with this. This show was instrumental in shaping the childhoods of MILLIONS of young children and kickstarting their love for the entire sci-fi genre. This first series you’re watching is the beginning of the revamp and every revamp has to start somewhere. Eccleston did his best and he did the best possible job he could’ve with what he had to work with (a limited budget as the BBC didn’t know if it would be received well by its audience or not), poor CGI due to limitations of the era and other issues. But give it time and breathing space. You’ll understand why it is so revered in the sci-fi community. There’s performances from Tennant coming up that A-list actors are still using as an example of what they should strive to replicate in Hollywood today. ❤️👏🏻🇬🇧💯
