The first saga has a massive difference in tone and structure, but it's not only important for establishing the world and characters (after all, why should you care what happens later if youβre not invested?), it also starts shifting gears pretty soon. I donβt know if this counts as a spoiler, but the next saga is literally one of the most influential arcs in manga. Youβll see it referenced all over media (it even βrepeatsβ twice later, each time it becomes iconic in its own right and never happens in DBZ at all). Just watch the show without expecting DBZ to suddenly be way better than OG Dragon Ball. You'll be disappointed otherwise Great reaction! I hope I'm not too negative
