Specifically, the movie depicts Wizard of Oz programming, one of the base programming methods used on Monarch victims. Part 1 examines the history of Wizard of Oz programming, drawing on the testimonies of Monarch survivors Cathy O’Brien, Brice Taylor, and Cisco Wheeler. Brett also situates the movie within the Francis Ford Coppola-George Lucas-Steven Spielberg axis that will be discussed greater depth in Part 2.
